EverythingCFB.com give their analysis for the GT Yellow Jackets football squad for 2022

They certainly are not optimistic.
I think Sims certainly could improve a great deal, and I think he has a high ceiling. I was a little miffed at their take on Sims' sophomore campaign. He went from 54 percent to 60 percent in completions and his TD:INT ratio went from 13:13 to 12:7, playing fewer games.
I'm not sure the disparaging of the receivers was all that warranted. McGowan was good and Adonicas made some tough catches too. Although, they are no longer a part of the team.
Now, where they do have a point is in how little experience we bring back and the concerns about the OL.
I also will reserve any enthusiasm over the coaching hires until I see some results on the field. Guaratano, for one, regressed under Weinke at UT.
But there is no masking we were bad last year. Real bad. And there is little starting experience returning. And the schedule is balls. Plus, I want to know what in-game coaching adjustment/maneuver CGC has ever effected that has produced a win (I've seen the opposite - like giving into the crowd and passing up the field goal for a fourth down try that failed infamously.). If he has done so, either it does not come to mind or I have missed it.

Those guys misinterpreted a key piece of information in my opinion.

They think that only 5 returning starters is a negative.

The fewer starters that return from the team last year, the better.

I vehemently disagree.

There is little more indicative of a team's chances for success than returning production and we're returning very little of merit in either side of the ball and relying entirely on potential of people who weren't good enough to unseat the starters who only got us 3 wins x 3.

OC - Improved, but count me as not blown away by the hire. I question our personnel fit to his approach and I don't know how much to attribute his past successes to great offensively minded head coaches who chose not to retain his services or bring him with them to new stops. Still, improvement.
QB - we've upgraded the backup position, which is good since Sims can't stay healthy. Coaching should improve immensely.
RB - we lost our best 2 players and are relying on transfers and our "change of pace" situational guy to take over the load here. Downgraded the coaching at this position.
WR - We need someone to replace McGowan in the slot who was our best player in the group by my eyes. Malachi is serviceable on the edge. We realistically are hurting for production from the receiving corps. A situation where we're relying on potential alone. I have seen a lot of progress from this group over the past 3 years, but they had a long way to go and still do. We're turning over the coach here, but new guy seems pretty good so I hope the progress continues.
TE - I guess the positive news with the transfer is that we should improve. We can't get any worse production wise here. Year 4 you should be in a better position than we are in turning this group over. Coaching has been upgraded, but I will withhold the comments I've heard second hand from Long about what he really thinks of this group.
OL - we're relying on transfers with no starting experience to replace our previous group of transfers who at least had experience before transferring in. Hard to imagine a group in a worse position in terms of readiness to play. Year 4 you should be in a better position than we are in turning this group over. Only position without a coaching change. Will Long be able to scheme to their strengths enough to overcome the lack of experience and talent?

DC - Thack is back....
DL - another position group where we're relying on pure potential of people who did not unseat the people who left. Hopefully the freshmen DTs can come in and contribute right off the bat. We went from 2 coaches to 1 for this group, so that's a downgrade.
LB - we lose our best player from the group, what makes anyone think we'll improve here? Coaching... I don't even know what to make of it. The guy looks and sounds like a ööööing retard to me.
DB - we lose all of our production, but they should've been benched to get experience for the guys who will be playing this year. We've brought in some transfers. Hope is not a strategy. Coaching... we brought in the DB coach from a school who actually had a worse pass defense than us last year. Don't think that's possible? Understandable, but check the stats, it's true.

ST - remember when we couldn't make an XP? Yeah, we've got those guys again now that our kicker has graduated. Yay for line drives that get blocked!!!

And I'd like to donkey punch in the nuts whoever decided to add a bunch of useless bull öööö bassy music instead of just letting us hear what these guys have to say.

I disagree, I clicked on the video for the music alone. You already knew what they were going to say. The music was the wildcard.

Yeah, but that means they couldn't beat out the guys from last year.
