Those guys didn't give a hoot today. They didn't even try to cover Utah. Reggie is a drag on the program, but Lil Joe would have struggled to win that game with our defense playing in the toilet.

I'm so depressed.

Re: yes, Reggie is weak, but he didn\'t play defense

Last night my son's varsity basketball team got burned by a hot three point shooter left open two straight times down the floor. He and his teammates were blistered by their coach in a timeout. He yelled, "You know he's their shooter. You know to get in his face. Either do it, or get the hell off the floor!" They responded and won their Christmas tournament.

My question, did any coach on the sideline or in the press box ever care enough to say today, "Somebody cover 88!" He ran simple slants or waggles over the middle and not once did we cover him. He caught 1/3 as many passes today as Calvin caught all season. He caught more than 1/3 as many TD passes as Reggie threw all season.

I absolutely agree, defense and Tenuta joined offense and Gailey/Nix as equal culprits in this debacle.

Well, you have to realize that in practice when our defense goes against the first team offense, Reggie can't throw over the middle, so we just have no practice covering there...

In the "good old days" if they had wanted a shootout, we would have given them a shootout - 39-38 or something like that. Now, we can't muster that. We have a QB that can't throw the ball in the ocean from a rowboat in the middle of it. I would rather lose a few games at the start of next season with Garner, Bennett, Manley, or Donaldson than have another season of going into the stadium wondering if this was one of our patented "let's get blown out today" games.

I think even if we start one of those guys, we still win 7. At least it will be something different from the past 3 years.

He didn't play offensive line either, nor did he design the passing scheme that is so easy to defend.

Not 1 more snap for Reggie

We were down by just 10 at the half. What does are O do for the next 2 posessions? 3 and out. Our D was on the field to long. The only time we win is if our D completely shuts down our opponent. We will never win more than 7 a year with this pathetic O. Reggie is as good as he will ever be. I have seen enough. We'll secondary help next year, put Reggie at DB. Turn it over to Garner or Bennett.

Why do say that Reggie can't throw over the middle? He did against Auburn, and then we abandoned throws over the middle.

This is a scheme issue. In the NFL, you don't risk your wideouts to getting tagged over the middle by headhunting Safeties and LBs.

Chan needs to realize that GT is not in the NFL, and that the college passing game is not the same as the NFL passing game. We have a "reverse Spurrier" situation going on.
