never would have bailed on their teammates in a bowl game. What Cam Ward did today took the cake, he wanted to break a record and when he did in the first half he removed himself from the game for the second half. So Ward played to break a record and bring glory to himself, but when it came to playing for his teammates to win a game … screw’em. That’s really a sad testimony for this young generation.

This type stuff, general opt-outs for years and portal schedule are part and parcel why the Bowls just don’t matter for anyone outside individual fanbases. They are an indication of the teams that are there that day in terms of talent and want to be there, but that’s it. Nothing else can really be gleaned from them…not the team’s season success or failure, not their conference’s season’s success or failure or anything about next year.

It’s a testament to Cam Ward.

yes it's a true indictment on an entire generation of humans that a miami college football player is selfish and a pussy because this kind of thing was completely unheard of there before this
Yes it is … I don’t remember hearing about it when I was college age in the mid 70’s. I guess it started this millennium.

I question Miami’s whole football program. They have so much talent that always gets wasted by poor coaching and lack of discipline.

Miami sells tittays and sunshine to their prospective players and nothing else. Same reason USC can't compete anymore since NIL is now a thing. They used to have money and location advantage, now players are just following the latter.

It'll be interesting to see how future teammates and "professional" defenses react to his decision making.

Compare that to Haynes King’s attitude before the Birmingham bowl. “If I can go, I’m going to play. It’s not even a question”.

Haynes may not have played his best game the other day, every player has off days.

But our QB would never quit on his team and sit on the sidelines with his hands in his pockets.

Yesteryear's players were not rentals.

Of course you don’t remember. It’s largely inconsequential and you’re old as öööö.
