..at those fans here that year after year, continue to put Gailey on a pedestal and defend him. He is THE most mediocroe of a coach mired in the mediocrity of what is GT football.

Calvin - wouldn't blame you one bit to take the money and run away from this ship that is taking on water at the same rate Gailey pumps it out.

wait till next year!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! you'll see

Nate, I actually think we'll be better next year. Couple of reasons. First the D will be just as good if not better. We lose a few guys but most return and the talent behind those leaving is solid. Second, Reggie can't play. I don't care who the new QB is, at worst he brings the same inconsistency as Reggie but almost has to be a better passer. Even if Calvin leaves, we have receivers who can play if given a chance. Finally 4 or 5 OL and Choice return and their backups are better as well.

Don't really care if Nix stays or goes. Whoever calls plays will now have the whole field to use since we won't have a 5'9" QB no matter who we pick.

We are better this year than last year Geetee, no matter how badly we feel about the season right now. And actually I've never said that until after last year.

But the single biggest mistake of Gailey's career here has been to wed himself to Reggie. Well that's over now so no matter what we will have a new QB. With the talent elsewhere on this team we will be better. I don't know what our record will be, but we will be better IMO.

I "think" we will be better because of a new QB. What I would like to see is a better game plan when we have the ball. Our game plan seems to be: throw long left, run the ball, throw long right and punt. Almost as predicatable as the old Falcons.

I have two thoughts on that og&w. First is Reggie throwing the passes that are called or does he panic and just heave it long? I'm sure some are the primary route, but would be real interested in knowing if all of them are.

Second, Reggie can't throw many routes. As someone with more techinical knowledge than me pointed out weeks ago, he's short and has a low release so his ball rises. That means he has trouble with touch passes and the ball tends to get away high. That translates into a limited list of routes he can throw.

What we saw a little of when TB played against Duke was a difference in patterns. Whether it was a difference in what was called or what was thrown is something I don't know.

What I do agree with completely though is we throw it way too often on first down for my tastes. Wake was having trouble with Tashard, so we took him out of the offense for them.

D gets better next year unless Tenuta gets hired away.
O gets better next year with a better line and no Reggie McBrainlock.

We've had this debate for the last 2-3 years! Accept mediocrity! We thought we had the best team in years! We lost to ugag; we lost the ACC to WAKE???? and we're headed back down there again. Maybe the stadium will be half full... There have been so many on this board defending this great program of ours and waiting to jump on those that challenged the direction. I'll accept the wins we won this year, but losing such games as vs. uga is rediculous. Those that continue to look at the world through your rose colored classes, take them off, please. Oh, by the way, "next year??" ain't gonna happen!

Who thought we 'had the best team in years?'

Your life must be pretty sad to belittle a great 10-2 Wake team that beat some fine ball clubs including pulverizing FSU in Tally.

Well here' the deal dude. You have to "accept" the team. You can't be a fan and accept the wins, but somehow disassociate yourself from the losses. At the first of the year I thought we had the talent to compete with anyone on the schedule. I felt that 8 wins regular season was the minimum for a decent year. We beat that.

But, and it's a big but, we lost 2 games that, imo we were the better team, ugag and wake. Not to take anything away from either, but we should have won both games. Does that make mad? Yes. But does that mean we need to start over? I don't think so.

I think next year's team will be better. Our talent level continues to improve and I believe we will have a true QB under center for a change. That's really the only compliant I have about Chan over his tenure. He hasn't been willing to take a risk at the QB spot. He thinks Reggie can handle things and win more than he loses. But he hasn't realized yet that in college winning at a 60% clip really doens't get you anything. He should have rolled the dice sometime in the last 2 years to see if we could improve things dramatically. If we hadn't, we would still have had about the same record imo.
