A weak denial. Yep. This is definitely happening.

Griffin acknowledged that an action like switching conferences from the ACC to the Big Ten would take place at an executive level, but said that Tech president G.P. “Bud” Peterson “has told me there’s been no communication nor does he expect any.”

Two requests for comment from a representative of Peterson were not immediately returned.

Wouldn't a reporter just file a FOIA request asking Tech to provide any and all records of conversations that have taken place with the Big Ten?

nope but having lived in that region i can tell you many people are more likely to group tech with UGA than MIT, which is what I said. So don't change my statement with words like admired and anything else.

they respond with a time estimate as to how long it would take to doctor the documents so as to render them useless and/or unrecognizeable.

Ultimate troll already happened. We got the conference we are potentially leaving to fight for us to get a waiver to go to bowl game. Think the ACC would've done that if they thought we were leaving?
 
Three business days later: "We intend to comply with your request, to prepare the information, we will need 10 business days, sue us if it's a problem."
