Virginia stiffs Penn State

That's not cool. Doesn't give PSU any time to react - and what is the logic behind scheduling a game on a day when you already have a game scheduled?

How does UVa get these great OOC games on such short notice anyway? Last time we had a hole in our schedule, I heard sob story after sob story about how it takes decades to get a decent West Coast team for a home-and-away.

Cav Man was uncomfortable performing in front of Ped St., even with the promise of a place called Happy Valley.

Can we trade our one of our FCS games out to play Penn State then?

Because people are less confident about beating us on the road than they are beating Virginia on the road. Is that surprising?

No way we'd give up the 7th home game despite it being an additional (second) FCS game on the schedule.

But basically, losing to Penn State and beating a second FCS team would have the exact same impact on bowl eligibility – ZERO. Plus, the only way to gain credibility is to go play and beat people.

Should we do it? Absolutely. Drop Alabama A&M on Nov. 23 and just have a bye that week. Go to State College, PA in week 3.

We requested our bye weeks to the ACC for one to be in September and one after BYU, so it would set up perfectly:
Week 1: Elon
Week 2: ACC game
Week 3: at Penn State
Week 4: BYE

Now of course it'll never happen. But it should. It would be a helluva splash by Bobinski.

this is a very rude, pompous, and elitist move. So I guess it fits UVA to a T.

We could beat Penn State is we could keep that defense from the bowl game.

Beat them then drop the rematch from the schedule. Smart. Would've worked well for Kansas. Also for Georgia Tech (MTSU). :frown:

I wouldn't care if we gave up a home game this year against an FCS team if Ped St guaranteed us a home game within a year or two. I'd much rather see us leave out FCS teams on the schedule.

We should take however much we make from an FCS home game, double it, add in the Elon buyout, double that total, add travel costs, and finally add two years of Ted Roof's salary. That should still make financial sense to both us and Penn State for a game there on short notice against a BCS conference team.

Who do we write to make this happen???

Probably Bobinski, just like Drad was pretty great about reading and answering emails for the first couple of years, anything you email to Bobinski will probably get read. I'm sure his email is on the GT site somewhere.

the football coach probably gets more fan e-mail traffic than other people in the AA. So he's letting you know that his e-mails are screened by Mr./Ms. T Anton.

I figured he tried to change it to Taint but an admin caught it and tweaked it to something harmless.
