SEC Network to be announced on Tuesday

The end of college athletics as we know it. An already over saturated sports market adding another network to subscribe to. I've gone the way of Roku plus antenna. I refuse to be a boob tube prisoner.

Pretty big fail. SEC fans only care about football. At least this clears more space for reruns on Peachtree TV instead of Ole Miss vs Alabama basketball?

Who cares who is watching?

Everyone knows every state with a SEC team will force their cable distributors to pick up the channel for the basic sports lineup and divert more money into SEC. That's what happened with big 10 channel in big 10 states (yet to see what happens with new big 10 states added though).

I can see Texas and Florida being a fight, but SEC probably still gets its way.

Easy money for SEC.

If you have cable subscription in Atlanta, it won't be long before you are paying SEC monthly.

Good thing I am cable free for about a year now.

Just as B1G fans call it the "BigTen tax" this will be called the "SEC tax."

Any suggestions on a cost-effective alternative to cable: Dish? DirecTV? Other?

Don't Dish and DirecTV have the same issue? They aren't "cable" but that term is used broadly in regards to conference networks correct?

So that leaves the ACC as the only 'major' conference without a network, huh?

And no, a tiny part of Raycom Sports isn't a network.
