Congratulations on beating the yapping dogs last week. Tulane may pose a little better test but shouldn't be a problem for yall. Interestingly week 3 against us may be a little tougher than you think. We know your offense so it won't be a surprise for us and I like our odds of defending it. On the other side our offense had no trouble moving up and down the field on NC state as we dominated them for 3+ quarters. Unfortunately there are 4 quarters in football and we let them off the hook with a couple of critical mistakes late. Anyhow, I look for a low scoring game with the game being decided in the fourth. It could come down to a FG here or there and we do look much improved in that department. Just dropping by and I hope to meet some of yall up there next weekend as we seek to become the best team in the state(by proxy assuming yall beat thUGA) I think this should be a really well-attended game. GATA! See you next Saturday

We'll be tailgating at Home Park.

Gonna have to disagree with you on this one. Just because you know the offense doesnt mean you can stop it. We will be Tulane, then come in and beat GA S like a drum. Our D is way better/talented than NC STATE. Look for another big game from Smelter in this one.

Southern's D isn't that great and they wore down against the Pack. By all indications, it was ridiculously hot on the field at Carter-Finley Stadium (field sits below ground level, stands don't allow for a breeze ... must have been designed by Clemson or NCSU alum).

Southern's got a couple of good linebackers but a fairly inexperienced D line and the secondary ... mmmmm.... not a lot good to say there.

Eagles do have a very experienced O line, even though they are still learning new blocking schemes, a very good QB, a fast little dude at RB and some good receivers. Upshaw, the backup QB, can fly, but they have to keep Ellison healthy.

Wolfpack had 464 total yards - 254 came on their three second half TD drives.

Southern could certainly pull that one out in Bobby Dodd, but probably not. "Dominating NC State for 3 quarters" is not much to brag about. We've got better athletes at almost every offensive position - I see little reason why you'd have more success defending against us than we would against you. Anyway, see yall at Home Park around 9am.

We just ran the same offense for the last 4 years. In 2010 we played Navy-also running the same offense, and they could only score 13 against us with some pretty good athletes and a highly touted Heisman hopeful QB so I think we have a better than average chance of being able to stop yall. On the offensive side we are NOT running the same offense anymore as everything is out of the pistol. Plus we have added a passing game along with some beef on the offensive line. I'm sure you'll be able to get some stops but will you get enough? I know Tech will probably win but you will know we've been there. A couple of breaks here or there and who knows? Can't wait. This game has been circled for a while now.

This year's Southern's offense isn't terribly different from last year's, with the exception of no more McKinnon and being more prone to pass the ball now.

Ellison was 7 of 7 for 140 against Samford (a truly bad loss for GSU, like trainwreck meets dumpster fire ugly), though the Eagles had two wins last year with 0 passing yards. Yes, the real GSU, not those doppelgangers in downtown Atlanta who really, really need to stop this folly of a football program, will be familiar with what Tech does on O. But Tech will be familiar with what GSU will do on O. They'll break down film from Fritz's Sam Houston State teams and look very closely at the NC State video.

There won't be much to be gained from watching Southern vs Savannah State. Unless you want to look at the redone Paulson.

Don't let the wanna bees distract us. We'll have time for this minutia next week. It's Tulane's turn.

I liked the look of Georgia Southern's offense. Had some pretty cool plays run out of the pistol AND they still ran some option. I'm glad their fans are still excited about their season as it should lead to a pretty fun atmosphere at BDS next Saturday. Having said that, 0-8 NC State (their ACC record last season) ain't that great. I make a rhyme every time.

Hope we put 100 on these Southern jackwads. Southern fans are almost as shitty as UGA fans. Except most Southern fans are also UGA fans (who couldn't get in to UGA) so maybe they're actually worse.

Hasn't this already been discussed?
