JHD with us yes or no?

Thanks, Obama. Let's blame everyone else.

The coaching staff can't make good grades for a student. But they can at least do what they can to give a struggling student the opportunity to make good grades. Lighten the football load so they can concentrate on their studies. Hopefully they'll do that in spring/summer.

They have access to some awesome tutors. They barely have to exert any effort compared to the average student.

Well, the AJC at 4pm yesterday said 'still no word.'

That's the thing.

They've had his grades since 6:00 pm on Tuesday. I assume that they determined around 6:01 pm if he was going to be reinstated. If the answer is "no", they might as well just release that information immediately, get people to focus on the game. If the answer is "yes" then they'd wait for the official determination from the NCAA before making an announcement.

So my belief is that since there was no information release Tuesday night / Wednesday morning, he has the grades to be reinstated and we're just waiting for the NCAA to approve that.

That analysis sounds correct to me

hopefully not trying to shadily finagle grade changes

hopefully not trying to shadily finagle grade changes

Only way I could see anyone associated with the school and program trying that is if it was a Georgia alumni trying to destroy the program. The school would burn the athletic association to the ground before letting that öööö slide.

Would be VERY hard to do that after grades are submitted. A grade correction form needs approval from the professor, the department chair, and the registrar. It's not easy to get one of those through and makes the professor look bad.

In general, the only time I really see them used is when a student has to miss a final for a valid reason and can only make up the exam after the semester.

Have we even found out if it's even possible to have him back for the OB? I thought in another thread someone had mentioned that players from other schools have done this exact same thing and made the grade but still not allowed to play in the bowl game.

this is not correct

Whatever the NCAA decides about JHD, we'll probably end up with two more years of probation.

I think the reality is he won't be playing in the ob... I've never seen Eric wrong about things like this

This. Sucks for sure, as I was pumped about the player formerly known as JHD playing in the OB.

He was already academically ineligible, so if there were no change would there be a need for an announcement?
