Johnny Frasier changes commitment to N.C. State

Why would anyone commit to NCState? It's academically and athletically the 3rd ranked school in a 15 minute drive.

Perhaps he was told by FSU that there was no spot for him. Since the schools can't comment on it, that could be the case.

NC State probably gave his girlfriend a scholarship or something. There is always more to the story than we know. According to the article NC state was not even in his top 5.

Or he looked at that burner FSU has at running back and realized he was destined to be a fullback at FSU. Featured back at NC State.

Lots of places he could have been a featured back. No need to go to the bottom half of the ACC to do that.

You're right. He could have been the next Herschel Walker. :)

In terms of schools at which football matter the most, it's far and away #1 in that area.

NC State fans at least have a better sense of humor than the rest of the snobs in that state.

Hard to be a snob when you went to NC State. That's the same reason uGA fans tend to not be snobs.

Ugag fans have an overblown sense of their program's greatness, when they are really pretty mediocre. They believe they are equal to Alabama. NC State fans have a sense of humor about their program.

Interesting flip - I frankly think FSU cooled on Frasier this season. He was playing in a small school division here in NC and got yards against teams that had no one who could tackle him. I think for him to be great in college he needs to lose some weight or either firm up and pick up foot speed. I had heard he was unlikely to sign with FSU, but didn't expect NCSU. Nyheim Hines has committed to the Wolfpack, a truly great tailback out of Garner, finalist in the East in our largest classification. Having seen Hines play several times and Frasier in pre-season scrimmages, I think Hines is the better back.
