I love the way these "boosters" always think that THEIR school will be the "top" job. I guess the fact that USC, Michigan (although they eventually got Harbaugh it was far from a done deal) and all other schools that never end up with a better hire just further prove that LSU is the best program in the world.

Tell me why is LSU job better than Tenn or SC?

It seems to me that Les Miles or Saben made LSU a top program. I expect they will slip back to reality when they kick Les to the curb.

I don't disagree with the first part of your post.

As for how is it better than Tenn or SC...recruiting in LA alone makes it better than Tenn or SC. The overall brand and other pieces I would argue are better as well, but the recruiting advantage is huge, IMO.
 
LSU isn't better than SC, if you mean Southern Cal. LSU is worlds better than South Carolina, which is a dump.

Because LSU has actually won national championships within the last 10 years. I think they're making a mistake if they get rid of Miles but to think they won't go after and get whomever they want is pretty silly.

Rabid fans, hell of a recruiting base, plenty of money and easy academics...everything it takes to win is already there.
 
Based purely on results, it's tough to fire Les Miles. He's won at the highest level, never been bad, and rarely even been mediocre.

But I'll be damned if I don't watch LSU play and think "what the öööö is this coach doing with all of this talent?!"
 
It must be terrible to lose three in a row. Good teams just don't do that.
 
Hope they slip back into the abyss that they were in under Gerry DiNardo.

Funny, he prefers to run the ball over passing but yet his offenses are never called high school. To be fair, he has never been able to find a solid, consist QB for his run centric offense. Every hyped up recruit they get always turns out to be a bust or gets in trouble off the field. The one time he did have one, they won it all.

Richt all over again... I wouldn't want Les here because he'd be #FAIL to a level that we have never seen, but he wins at SEC schools...

I think his point is, "LSU, be careful what you ask for. You were average for 80 years before you had a 15 year run of greatness."

Truth here. Miles and Richt have a lot in common in that regard. Miles gets more attention for his coaching gaffes because of his crazy-ass personality. Plus he's actually won a national title.

See, I don't know if I'd compare Richt and Miles too much.

Miles' results are pretty good, he just makes a lot of foolish decisions and has actually had a lot of good luck. He also can't develop a QB for öööö. I don't know that I'd fire him if I was LSU, but I would certainly not want to hire him anywhere else.

Richt's results are damning, IMO. They are a guarantee to lose just about every big game. Richt can't even win the pathetic SEC East over the last few years, and the one time he actually did win some big games, his team lost in the SEC title game directly because of an inexcusably bad decision he made.

That's fair. Most of Miles' bizarre decisions happen against the likes of Arkansas, Kentucky, Mississippi State. Richt tends to have them in games like Alabama, Auburn, Florida, us, the SECCG.

Richt's situation has done exactly what I didn't think it would do, it's come down to our game. We win, I think he's toast. If they beat us, even if it's on some bizarre fluke involving swamp gas and weather balloons, I don't think there's any chance they fire him.
