Maybe now you guys will believe me when I tell you UVA is awful. I said they where only slightly better then Duke hate to say I told you so.

Also VThug looked weak also. There QB is awful and the O line was beaten down all day by mighty East Carolina.

This is our ACC Championship to lose. I think Taylor needs to step up some but I am sure nerves got to him a little today. I think this could be a special season! GO JACKETS!!!

I for one was shocked! The other thing catching ny eye is NC State getting their hinnies handed to them.

Run up and down field, whoever has ball l ast wins. Did not watch a lot. Did see where WF qb Riley got hurt though.

BC will be a huge test for us in 2 weeks.

Yep that game scares me the most. I am looking forward to the Clemson game tomorrow night to check them out.
 
Groh is doing a truly incompetent job up there. How do you have the OL they have and get shut down like that? There's only one answer: Groh is a dinosaur and the innovation of the game has passed him by.
 
Just saw that Kansas St. and Ron Prince is leading Auburn. I think we know now who was behind the success at UVA a few years ago.

and Central Florida (kudos to O'Leary) beats up on NCState

We were definitely the high point of the conference this weekend (not withstanding the in-conference games).
 
I think the top ACC teams this year will be fine, but we will definitely have some bad bottom ones. Look at Auburn yesterday almost losing to Kansas State.

If we were to have UM, VT, GT, FSU, UMD, BC all be contending at a national level the ACC will be looked at as fine. Who knows how good Clemson will be. Atleast half our teams could be considered good. Who knows, I could be completely wrong too.

Edit: Duke will never be looked at as a reason the ACC is good or bad.

It was coaching that blew the game for them. How could they not put any backside help to protect the QB? Groves was blowing by the left tackle every time and on about the 4th or 5th straight time caused the fumble that was returned for 6 to put it out of reach for Auburn.

FWIW, Miami did beat up on Marshall pretty bad.

You're right Bsakoff, you're the only one who saw that coming. Its not like that bet wasn't the lock of the week next to the GT game. I know how much you hate telling people, "I told you so".
 
Awful or not I'm also still worried about our game with them. You can't just ignore 16 years of history, and we have a reputation of losing games we should clearly win, so I won't rest until we're out of there with a W. I needn't remind you of Duke....

I also think that streaks are meant to be broken. In our last game at Charlottesville, they had a big OL including a TE who went in the top 10 of the draft. Until a year ago, Tech typically had a size deficit on the line and teams with big lines took advantage of that.

This year, it appears that the tables are turned. The word from the Wyoming game was that the lines were porous to say the least. So, like I said with ND, I just can't see where UVA can get their points against us, even if we are playing them in Charlottesville.
 
I'm not sure who thought uva was so great but I knew that offense couldn't be much--- but only 3 vs Wyoming?wow

I'm more worried about our history of losing winnable games after big wins in openers. If we can avoid the midseason trap game, which we did last year (until the end, that is), I think we could have a special season.

We need to keep working hard, because the BC game won't be a joke.

Worry about that if you want but we are much more prepared this year with team depth so the likelyhood of losing as big favorite is minimal.
 
Not sure this is what you mean, but BC isn't a 'trap' game. (Nor is it midseason).

I am partway through the BC-Wake replay online, but so far I am conviced that we will have to play exceptionally to beat BC. We do get lucky in that they will have to play NCState this week. Central Florida aside, I doubt that they will be able to prepare for us for two weeks. Ap State aside, we had better be preparing for BC now.

Samford is no Ap State.

No I never knew why some many people thought they where good. I knew they sucked and figured more people knew they sucked but people keep saying that is a trap game or a letdown whatever. I never claimed to be the college football guru I just could not see why anyone thought they where a good football team. And BOR I can care less about telling people " I told you so." I just don't see this team losing to a UVA type team.
