CPJ throws the defense under the bus

Defense was not the problem, you limit the opposition to 1 touchdown and lose you cant put that on the defense.

Think you missed the part where he said we had to be better on both sides of the ball. Do you believe PJ thought up the the subject of this article or do you believe PJ answered a series of questions and the author wrote what he wanted?

Clearly the latter. A few out of context answers twisted into an article. Author is stirring the öööö.

The offense certainly stunk up the place, especially JT but the D was not anything to write home about. Jeez the Dwags offense is one of the worst in the country and they put up over 400 yards on us.

Listen to the postgame presser. The reporter asked a dumb question and CPJ took out some frustration on him.

It went something like this:
Besides 2 or 3 plays the defense did a good job of stopping the run....

Their guy was 150 yards on 24 carries for 6.2 yards per rush

Well, like I said, except for a couple...

Unfortunately they all count. Y'all gotta get better expectations.

Headline and article are ööööing stupid but not half as stupid as anyone who actually believes Johnson threw the defense under the bus. That bullshit has been spewed constantly this year by the morons who want him fired because it's easy to make a thread title or a headline that says "CPJ BLAMED THE PLAYERS" when you don't have to back it up with any actual quotes from the man.

If you believe that kind of garbage, you're dumb as öööö.

I'm not seeing what's wrong with this.

There wasn't. The reporter asked a dumb question. Coach snarked. All he's saying is our run defense and defense in general could improve. That's not throwing anyone under the bus.

Gotcha. I'm used to seeing people bitch after losses about his attitude, thought that's what I was reading. Who was the reporter?

I'd assume Stan awtrey since his article uses part of the quote, still completely misses the point, and doesn't delve into any deeper analysis than points allowed.

Seems like the dude had his headline and was after a quote that would lend credence to it. He wasn't successful but no dumbass worth his retarded salt would let that stop him.

If you don't think the defense was a problem, just wait til next year. Who's going to rush the passer? The Ghost of Gotsis? We continue to fail to recruit DL.

Do not know if it is still done this way, but I know at one time (at AUC for sure) a reporter submitted an article and someone else made up the headline.

But HC is responsible for it all.

CPJ is exactly right about the 25 yard pass over the middle to the tight end - with Georgia backed up on their own seven, GT just having cut the lead to 13 to 7 with what, 3 minutes and some change left?

As awful as our offense played, if we get a three and out right there we have a legitimate opportunity to win the game 14-13. UGA is not a good football team, it's a öööö shame we couldn't pull this one out.

Weak headline. He most definitely did not throw the defense under the bus. Also, the defense was fairly good yesterday but have not been good this season or any other under Roof, or PJ's entire tenure, really.

We can mask deficiencies with better schemes, probably, but the real problem is a lack of talent. I do think we've got more talent in our freshman/sophomore classes than we've had since 2009, but we have to sustain that momentum and even bring in a few stars if we want to have a good defense to match our offense.

the offense wasn't scoring 14 pts yesterday. We had to hold the mutts to 6 or less to have a chance. We didn't so it's the fault of the D.
