If I had to rank the jobs.

1. Southern Cal
2. UGA
3. VT
4. South Carolina
5. Virginia
6. Maryland
7. UCF
8. Miami
9. Missouri
10. Iowa State
11. Memphis
12. Syracuse
13. Rutgers
14. Hawaii
15. Toledo
16. UL Monroe

Might actually put VT and Miami on par with UGA as far as national relevance. USC is far and away the best out there.

Miami's lack of facilities and an on campus stadium pushes it down the list.

Maybe, but they swung a mean hammer in the 90s and 00s. Plus, it's one of the few recruiting grounds more fertile than Georgia. They're private and can pull whatever money they need to upgrade.

Interesting comment in this referenced thread. Considering Beamer's record, the most successful programs in the ACC have the longest tenured coaches. At least 4 years (Fedora). Be careful what you wish for, CPJ naysayers.

The ACC isn't much better. With Frank Beamer gone the longest tenured HC's were the hires in 2008 with Dabo, Paul Johnson and David Cutcliffe.
Paul Johnson (GT)- 8 years,
Dabo Swinney (Clemson)- 8 years,
David Cutcliffe (Duke)- 8 years,
Jumbo Fisher (FSU)- 6 years,
Larry Fedora (UNC)- 4 years,
Dave Doeren (NCSU)- 3 years,
Steve Addazio (BC)- 3 years,
Dave Clawson (WF)- 2 years,
Bobby Petrino (Louisville)- 2 years
Pat Narduzzi (Pitt)- First year
New coaches next year (Virginia, VT, Syracuse, and Miami)

Yeah, I remember those saying we could never do better than ccg (were they right?)

Having a winning record in the ACC does not necessarily equate to success.

not sure any of those would want to run our offense.

No, what I mean is the schools we would be competing with for a new coach right now would be nuts if we had fired him this year. I'm sure someone would have hired CPJ but trying to get a coach right now would be a nightmare

My apologies and yes, you're absolutely right. It's gonna be a fight for these schools to find the right coach.
