Remember when JT could do no wrong?

We made jokes about JT the second coming of Hamilton. We posted GIFS and highlight videos and projected the number of touchdowns he would score.

And now after the worst o line play in decades some have called for him to be benched.

Are we really that vain? Or do we believe that he really didn't do everything he did in 2014? Or maybe it was a fake. Maybe we are really now seeing what he really is.

I say it's bullshit. He is still one of the best qbs in college football. Just instead of running past defenders he was running for his life and injured all season.

Yeah--and i remember pre season Vad also--folks are so delusional. Just like every RB at Ugag is the next Walker.

JT5 is a good college football player. Obviously he was surrounded by better talent last year than he was this year. Also, last year's team had good senior leadership ...other than Gotsis, I'm not sure how much senior leadership this team had this year.

It's been mentioned in the other threads that he's been banged up for the last several weeks. Hard to play up to par when you're hurt… and you're running for your freaking life because your offensive line can't block.

I think this year showed that JT isn't as good as he seemed last year; he was really supported by the OLine and experienced backs and receivers. He's not as bad as some say either. Some would argue he's not as good or as bad as he seems. He was running for his life more than half the time this year. But he also generated a fair amount of suck on his own. Room for improvement.

He's a great player. He performed poorly this season, mainly due to to awful, awful blocking. But regardless of the reason, he performed poorly and thus he'll get criticism.

Hopefully he rebounds next year and proves everyone wrong.

Football is a team sport. Friggin Mike Vick couldn't be successful with our OL.

As with everyone, there can always be improvement. Thomas will still make a bad read or a bad throw here or there, but he was, by no means, terrible this year. I'll say the same thing as everyone else except the fact that blocking, as a whole, was terrible. I cannot possibly single out the line for their shitty blocking, yet absolve perimeter and back blocking for their poor blocking, as well.

Justin is a good QB for our offense. I am sure that is something we can all agree on.

Our o-line didn't block. Our WRs didn't block. Our A-backs didn't block. Not sure what QB could do well in that situation.

Fade back to pass and run for your life is our best pass play, unfortunately

Gawdfrigginamity! You'd think nobody here ever played a down of football. If u didn't, STFU. If you did, sober TFU. Replay the OB while sober or having someone who did play and is sober with you, and realize that...... JT or anyone else on earth can NOT fake that. Sheesh people!

Even when he had time to throw he looked awful yesterday. It was not a good performance. I'm sure it is hard to make throws after getting hit and running for your life time after time, but there were throws that he needed to make that he didn't.

I will disagree with op a bit though. Even last year, his passing was not very good. It was adequate at best; the offense and the tall receivers got him some good stats, but he couldn't hit anyone on stride, and we missed several TDs because of it.

I went into the offseason thinking year he needed to work on his throws to become a truly elite quarterback. We'll see what happens next season.

JT has lost his mojo. He is playing in retreat. You can not do that and hope to be successful in any offense much less the one we run. You have to be aggressive and attack. I think the whole unit took on his personality as the season progressed. He just is too small and now playing too timid to put the sting in our attack. We need to find someone with Nesbitt's attitude and Tommy Frazier's skill set. Expect a little better to no huge advancement next year if JT remains our QB.

Go Jackets!

Jesus! Have you ever heard of a sophomore slump? JT will be fine. This year he had to come to terms with a lot of his limits and that he can't be the team's savior. That happens.

Last year he showed us what he can do when he's surrounded by players who can help shoulder the load and give him the blocking he needs to feel confident. You could tell this year he didn't have the confidence in the players around him and he was always trying to make plays that simply weren't there. This led to many poor decisions and turnovers. He's a fighter and I'm sure he'll take this off season as a chance to start working on what he needs to. This season was a humbling experience.
