Usc

Have you guys visited the USCe football board? They are somewhat receptive of Mushchamp. Seemingly more so than Richt. They say Richt won't win there because he couldn't win it all at UGA. That kind of logic is ridiculous. Let them have Muschamp. That dumpster fire can flame on.

Richt won't win it all at USCe or Miami or anywhere else he goes. If he couldn't do it at Georgia, he can't do it. But he can give South Carolina a degree of success they've never, ever experienced before. If he's available to them and they pass on him in favor of someone like Muschamp, they deserve the cellar he'll take them to and I will personally enjoy watching the absolute dominance Clemson will unleash on that state.

I agree with you. I don't think he can win it all there either. I doubt their message boards are representative of their fan base though. If stingtalk was, well then, the camaraderie at the games would be a lot more interesting

So they are not optimistic with Richt, who basically was a guaranteed nine wins in the division over a long stable career, but they like muschamp who crashed and burned with equal or greater talent in the division?

Insomuch as the fans who authentically care and don't just show up for homecoming to reminisce with old pals are concerned, I think StingTalk is overall a pretty good representation of our more level-headed and reasonable fans.

The problem you run into with that here is that far too many people who are regulars now came around during the end of Gailey's tenure/beginning of Johnson's and they want to imitate the atmosphere they saw which drew them here, so too many of them rarely actually talk about football and instead indulge only in constant attempts at trolling and stupid inside jokes. For that reason, StingTalk tends to look like a bunch of jackasses to the outsider. I don't blame guys like the lately vocal Legacy for long-term lurking when the odds are that any sort of thoughtful contribution you make will be met with either some idiot nitpicking and bitching or bigcry or whatever.

A couple posters there said Muschamp was "forbidden" from hiring his own OC and therefore crashed and burned. They are as delusional as the rest of SEC

Even if Richt isn't an option, they're absolute fools for even considering Muschamp. Hoping that he's figured out how to win as a head coach is like hoping that Manziel has gotten his head screwed on straight in the week since he earned and lost the starting job.

That's why I quit posting here. I'm a statistics/numbers guy. I love football and would rather talk statistics and how it could be improved, different strategies, etc. I tried that route and it didn't go well here... This place is like TMZ, it's fun for an episode or 2 until you realize how productive you could've been

It's a shame. There are a handful of posters such as yourself that I wish would post more, I enjoy actually discussing football and that was possible here even during the worst of the Gailey years. I'm guilty of the shenanigans as well but too many of our members see every attempt at authentic football discussion as a target for trolling or other assorted stupid responses. It would be nice to have both again, but for the moment we've scared guys like you away from even trying, it sucks.
