What # of returning Starters will we have?

What will our Starting line-up look like(and two deep)?

Who are the biggest losses? Replacements?

Sorry to get ahead to next year, but I was just thinking with e-boon-e-way coming in and the freshman that are already playing, we are going to look pretty darn good.
Hopefully we'll pick up another class like last years and get some of those guys in the mix. I know I could probably do some research and start compiling but you die-hards kick ass and can whip it up nothing flat.

The defense and the OL take huge hits...plus lose both the K and P...we have 17 scholarship seniors.

Best guess on starters (lots of youth in secondary):

QB- Taylor Bennett
TB- Jonathan Dwyer
FB- Quincy Kelly
WR- James Johnson
WR- Greg Smith
TE- Colin Peek
LT- Andrew Gardner
LG- Dan Voss
C- Trey Dunmon
RG- Jacob Lonowski
RT- A.J. Smith
P- MohammedYahiaoui

DE- Michael Johnson
DT- Darryl Richard
DT- Vance Walker
DE- Robert Hall or Derrek Morgan
LB- Shane Bowen
LB- Brad Jefferson or Tony Clark or Travis Chambers
LB- Anthony Barnes
CB- Jahi Word-Daniels
CB- Mario Butler
SS- Jake Blackwood
FS- Morgan Burnett
K- MohammedYahiaoui or Scott Blair

Hivered is right on the money. I'd throw Trevor Bray into the FB mix. Cord Howard is a possiblilty at guard if he's declared eligible this month.

DL and LB look pretty strong (as always). The CB's will get some experience this year. We'll be in the about the same condition starting next year as we were this year. We lose Wheeler which is huge, but we've always got the LB's to step up.

Looks like we're gonna have to score some points next year.

I would agree. I like our front 7 a lot...even if inexperienced our LB's will be athletic and hit with some pop. The secondary is the big question.

Hopefully our backup lineman are getting enough PT to not hurt us too much with 3 new starters....and as sidewalkfan said...getting Cord back will throw him into the mix as well.

I think it will be tough for Jake to start at safety, he is going to have to really improve because of the youngsters.

Let's not forget the coming of the second Cox.

Luke Cox (Mikes brother) and Lance Walls (Logans brother) have both walked on...it remains to be seen if they can pass schollie players in Quincy Kelly and Trevor Bray.

I also imagine Richard Watson will get some looks there when he signs and comes in.

I fully agree. After seeing the size difference between the two, I'm not ready to appoint him "the next Cox." It was more just a chance to make a play on words. ;)

Which youngster do you think will start besides Burnett?

Willie White is moving over to safety, Tarrant could play safety and Tony Clark could always move back. I think we will have better options then Jake by this time next year.

Tenuta likes Blackwood...and it will take a special player to get time in his system at safety (i.e. Burnett) after only one year compared to 3 for Blackwood. We will see...he is 2nd team SS this week against Samford. He has always played FS before.

He does but he also likes big play guys who have speed, Tarrant and White especially could develop quickly.

thanks hivered! you're so money and you don't even know it.
most of the stuff that has been talked about (L.Cox) i expected but what shocked me is that D. Richard is going to be back? I could have sworn he was a senior.

aw shucks :o

As hivered mentioned, CJT likes Blackwood. Tarrant has been moved to cb and there's a reason why Clark was moved to lb. I expect to see Jake there next spring with the first unit.
