Hi Fridgemover - just wondering if you've had a chance to watch the Four Falls of Buffalo 30 for 30? Care to share your thoughts on it?

I can't watch it, to emotional for me. Still hurts. I heard it was done well though.

If it makes you feel any better, I've become somewhat of a Bills fan because the FridgeMover is a cool guy. That, and the fact their fans like to have sex at the games.

And I'm pretty sure you never fell victim to the loser franchise that is the Atlanta Falcons.

You need to see it. Looked for you and saw you in a lot of the clips. Wanted to see if you agreed with Jim Kelley when he said something about the tackle (I think to your side) during the 89 season of the bickering bills. Also wanted to ask if players resent Jim Kelly for being buffalo's hero (also strange to me how welcomed he was after all the öööö he said about it when playing in the usfl). SBXXV seems to be the year all the guys seem to be most hurt by, like you've seemed to be when talking about it in the past

I grew up in s FL as a Dolphins Fan and the Bills always had our number....Andre Reed, Thurman Thomas, Jim Kelly.....

The right guard in 89' was a dick and a racist, he was forced to play with Howard Ballard by his side and he wouldn't work well with Howard. That was the start of it, I didn't play much in 89' because they didn't at the time want two relative new players in there at the same time. Starting in 89' Howard and I became very good friends, and developed a great working relationship, the on field stories are great between us. We caused a lot of problems for the DLineman back then. No one resents Jim at all as we all still have a great relationship between all of us. When you win the fans quickly forget about usfl stuff, Buffalo fans are unique, not saying others aren't but they are very knowledgeable and accepting. Times were tough in the 80's for the Bills so you can imagine what we did and what it did for that community. I'm hurt by all the losses, I still can't watch the replays on the NFL network. I feel like I let a lot of people down as well as the other players, it just may effect me more than others. One day I will be able to watch all of them and the 30 for 30 but just not now.

I just got back from Buffalo as they asked me to "Lead the Charge" at the Houston Texans game and I tell you the reception I received brought tears and chills as I never expected them to remember me, boy was I wrong. I also got the talk to Bill O'Brien and Mike Devlin (my teammate for two years and best friend on the team and drinking partner, more stories there that are ones to remember) I have a great love for Buffalo and the people/fans there and miss it a lot. (plus all my watering holes)

I didn't know about the Scott Norwood speech at the rally after his missed kick. Most fans would not be as accepting.

I was at the bar at Atkins Park in Smyrna the other night when it came on. No sound or closed captioning, but I watched the whole thing just for the multiple RM sightings.

I lived in Upstate NY in the 70's and the Bills' games were the only ones we could get on TV. So, I followed them pretty closely as a kid and then once RM went there it renewed my interest. They've always been one of my favorite teams.

Think about how the Boston fans treated Bill Buckner, he couldn't walk down the street in Boston until a few years ago, when they finally forgave him.

That's the difference between the 2 cities.

Broke my heart being from Buffalo although I grew up around Pittsburgh. Very similar fans. Watch it, it seems like everyone let it go. The way Scott Norwood wasn't villainized was awesome. You made me make stuffed peppers. Hopefully I can find a way to give you and your brother hell next year. I think we can take Sewak.

Thanks for responding Mover. Biggest take away I had was the fact that you won 4 straight AFC championships and that now that some time has past, stuff like this will help that be remember more than "lost 4SB".

Completely agree. To me the Bills are a great success winning the four AFC titles. Of course you want to win the big one, but failure is being in line for the first draft pick, not losing the last game of the season.

Finished watching it yesterday and came away extremely impressed with the Bills fans. I also really enjoyed the inclusion of Tim Russert. That guy was a great journalist.

I could imagine it being very difficult for a former player to watch, but it's certainly interesting how the media and people's thoughts about the 4 year run have changed from a negative to a positive over the years.

Hey mover. Great insight.

I hope you don't mind me asking particularly since it's a touchy subject. So, feel free to ignore or tell me to piss off, but how much do you think the XXV loss played a part in the others? What's your feeling on the mental piece of things vs. just running into a better team or just not y'alls day, which regrettably just happened to be in the SB?

What I didn't know and found interesting is how the Bills ripped up on the NFC and their SB opponents in the regular season. Something like a 14-2 record against the NFC during that time period.

Losing the first SB had no bearing on the 2nd one, however losing the second one did have an effect on the 3rd one and on the 4th one we just said screw it and let's get it done and we did for the first half but after Thurman's fumble/returned for TD took all the wind out of us and we couldn't recover. 25 and 28 are games we should have one but didn't.

I never played in a Super Bowl, or even the NFL, or even college football, so a fella like me thinks you should be pretty proud to have participated in all of that, which I am sure you are. I know the Super Bowl losses sting, but they are still a hell of an accomplishment. I would loved to have had the experience.
