Military Bowl Game Thread - Navy vs Pitt

Reynolds led Navy in rushing, passing and receiving yards today.

So now that Navy's season is officially over, any chance we pick up one of their offensive line coaches?

@ESPNStatsInfo
Navy's 180 1st half rush yds are 2nd-most allowed by Pitt in a game this season. Most came against another triple-option team: Georgia Tech.

Well, that is it would appear to be our goal. Lead the NCAA in rushing.

W & L - meh.

Watching Navy QB run the option is a thing of beauty, but you know what? JT is a better athlete. He's faster and I believe has a stronger arm. JT's issues are more between the ears. He doesn't have the nuances and understanding of the intricases of running the TO. This year JT tried to do too much on his own. I think it was because of the trust level and in some instances the blocking. JT had too many negative yardage plays and that is a killer in the TO. What I like about the Navy's offense is the amount of times they threw in non traditional passing situations.

Exactly. We ran all over this Pitt squad too. They were extremely lucky in the first half against us and hit a 56 yarder to win...wtf

JT wasn't as slick running this offense in his second year as Reynolds was in his fourth, nor should you expect him to be. Give Reynolds a year (any of the 4) with support like what JT had this year both at skill positions and offensive line and he doesn't come close to setting any NCAA records though. Don't get me wrong, I would love to have had Reynolds as the QB at GT; but don't judge JT by what he faced last year.

Justin Thomas had no offensive line and no backup all season long. Poor kid spent the entire season running for his life and he looked plenty banged up by the end of it.

This is what I saw :frown:
