what evidence is there that this would be the case? hint, there is none.

he very well may remain the coach until he retires, but it is not "no matter how many dismal seasons we have."

unless he wins a natl championship, then follows it up with a 3-9 season, then another NC, then another 3-9, and on and on. I'd take that for the next 10 years.

I'd take 3 seasons that average to .600, a 10+ win season in which we beat UGA, and a 4- win season, repeated in that order, until the day I die.

There isn't yet evidence but there will be after another clunker in 2016 with nothing from the Hill.

As long as CPJ keeps the program clean and players graduating, he'll be fine until he decides to retire.

Replacing a coach every 7 years isn't a bastion of stability. That's not 2 full recruiting cycles. Considering also that it's absurd, barring a falling off a cliff type collapse of the program (defined by the current expectations), to judge any coach prior to Year 5.

That's why your post was stupid.

Not sure what world you're living in, but I'd say having a coach for seven years is definitely pretty stable these days.

In fact, right now Paul Johnson is the 17th longest tenured coach in all of FBS, the third longest in the ACC, and would be third longest in the SEC.

I'll tuck tail and concede the point the trend has certainly been to play the musical chairs of coaches in CFB.

I still don't see Tech though as a place that allows its football coaches to wallow for very long.

Wake up, Felix. It's 2015, not 1915. Giving a HC 7 full years is more than enough time and very stable.

Also, we didn't fire GOL - he made up some bullshit on his resume and bolted (briefly) for Notre Shame. He could've stayed here another 2-3 years, minimum. The only one we fired was CG. We just had a coach go 3-9 in his 8th year and he's one of the most stable HCs in America.

GT is a place of HCing stability when you compare it to almost everywhere else in the NCAA.

Since Alexander, we haven't had a coach with more than 3 losing seasons to his name as the HC of GT. Johnson is our longest tenured coach since Dodd.

Not sure who that helps, just wanted to put it in here.
