will he be able to turn it around and carry the team when the run game is stopped?

Well, to be completely objective, last Saturday he made several good passes that were dropped, three or four called back or mistakenly called incomplete by the zebras, and a terrific scramble negated by a BS holding call.

Tater is helpin' far more than he's hurtin'.

Taylor didn't do anything to lose the game. He just didn't do anything to win it either.

0 interceptions, 0 td passes. Just about 50% passing. 200 yards

I think he'll be able to "carry the team" later in the season. He just doesn't have the experience now.

I hadn't checked it... his line was that good huh. He was close to a fine game and a long way from a bad one.

Bennet might not be a world beater right now, but he's not getting a ton of help from his recievers at the moment either. He'll be fine in time, but things still seem a little bit off rhythm for one side of the pass or the other just isnt quite in sync yet.
He'll get better, Im expecting somewhere in the 60+% passing by the end of the season and being much crisper with his passes if things well and he improves as he should with more play.

i would still like to see nesbitt put in the action a bit more, his athletic ability is just too hard to keep on the side line..

But it was no more blatant than any of BC OL on any other play......it was BS.

BC got away w/ holding all night, but they made it look good and that is sometimes what is taught. I wish our OLINE would make their blocking/holding look that pretty.

If we don't win with a QB that has this stat line:

0 interceptions, 0 td passes. Just about 50% passing. 200 yards

...then we have to point at OTHER THINGS to assign blame for the loss. Plug that stat line into ANY GAME last year and we would have been undefeated.

Uhhh...CJ had what, 15 TD's last year? Probably over half of the teams TD's, many of which were spectacular plays so I don't think you can say we'd be undefeated w/ 0 passing Tds all year ...Sorry, but 0 TD's an O Ints isn't anything to be too proud of..its not bad, but it ain't grand either. I'd say its about on par with a record of 2-1 and having lost to the best team we've played so far. In todays college game, the QB has to be able to put the ball in the endzone. This ain't the 50's when you can just expect your running back to carry you all season. Got to stretch the field. Maybe the problem is the WRs, who knows, but we've got to go vertical and get in the endzone.

You stated in your initial post above..."when the run game is stopped" Then why would you put Nesbitt in. Your strategy contradicts your initial post's premise. unless of course you think Nesbitt can run the ball with more success than Choice and Dywer??

Nesbitt's R/S should have never been wasted at the ND game. Poor planning on CG's part..very poor.

You will see why he's not redshirting this week

Nesbit will be lining up at WR and slot. Ocasionally he will drop back instead of running a route and catch a backward pass (lateral) from Tater, then throw a pass or hand off to the tailback on a reverse /end around type play. The double pass play option with double QBs will become a staple at GT, cementing John Bond's place in football history along side Benny Friedman.

Why would we break out this kind of creative play calling at UVA and not when we're losing at home against BC?

You gotta ask yourself this question as a Tech fan:

Does Taylor look improved from Game 1 to Game 3?

Think about ND's defense. Now think about BC's defense.

I hope Bennett runs more. Did you see that nice scamper? I could see some big gain draw plays.

Haha, only half joking...

Quite frankly, BC's defense was considered too good to be risk trying something this radical, so a more conservative game plan was implemented. This is not a trick play to thrown in once a game, but will be a standard part of the offensive package. Plus another week of practice under the belt to implement it.

Here is the TRUTH-
TB is doing just about where most thought he would do-not good but not bad,he wasn't the BIG reason we won or lost these 3 games
Unfortunately as the QB he is going to have to WIN some games not just "not lose" them VERY soon-maybe even this week.
