Neither do I. I imagine if you are trying to hire a big name, it might be.Does the AD have a coach-like contract or is the AD just a regular at-will employee? I honestly don't know.
Pretty much sums it up. Good coach, but recruits just do not want anything to do with the 3O. There are coaches who could do better, but they would be gone in 5 years.Keep his job? Maintain a .500 FBS record.
He was .500 from 2010 to 2013. Despite his 2014 record, he was .500 for 2014-2015. GT fans can therefore deduce that he is .500 vs FBS over the last five years.
Mediocrity is acceptable to the GT administration and to most GT fans. Mediocre record, mediocre bowl, occasional UGa win, and you are coach for life at today's GT.
When your program falls behind Duke, and most GT fans are OK with it, even big cry is not enough.
Our goal is to sell 20,000 season tix?
Close up the shop now, coz that will not cut it.
That's a fancy way of saying they've beaten us two years in a row and their coach delights in punking our coach. We have not "fallen behind Duke." Last year, they went 7-5 without getting FSU and Clemson from the Atlantic like we did. They lost to UNC 66-31. I couldn't imagine this message board if we did that. Then their bowl was the Pinstripe Bowl, where they beat Indiana 44-41. If we had BC and Wake from the Atlantic, and only Northwestern instead of ND and UGA in our OOC schedule, we would have probably done a bit better than 3-9.
With everything else being unchanged, how much better than .500 FBS do you think Saban would have been here the last several years? Do you think Henry and/or those Silverbacks UA has on their DL would or could come/last here? They wouldn't even be allowed an official visit.Pretty much sums it up. Saban would be a bad fit at GT, he us an out physical you type of coach. If GT ran Baylor/ Oregon type of offense or just a pass first offense we would increase the "cool" factor dramatically and recruit much better. With everything else being unchanged, how much better than .500 FBS do you think Saban would have been here the last several years? CPJ pretty well nailed it when he said he told our ass't coaches they were much better recruiters at Auburn when they were there!
As we say in rural georgie "yall are on to something".Pretty much sums it up. Good coach, but recruits just do not want anything to do with the 3O. There are coaches who could do better, but they would be gone in 5 years.

You seem to think there are a lot of 1000 SAT, 4 years of math, great academic work ethic, 4 & 5 star recruits that actually wish to study very very hard. He couldn't recruit much better because he wouldn't be allowed to by the Admin, plus the aforementioned lack of buyers.I'm pretty sure Saban actually went .500 in his first year. Offense and defense are very straight-forward, meant for players who will be there for three years. The mind-numbing precision makes it horrible to watch.
Saban would recruit much better than CPJ though, because he's the best recruiter in the country. Having been to Tuscaloosa, I rolled my eyes when Bama plopped down $4mm a year. It seemed like something ND would do, to return to greatness. Then he got close to the top ranked recruiting class his first year.
Bama has its bagmen, I'm sure, and unlike Ole Miss they're smart enough to get away with it. But it doesn't make sense that Bama is intrinsically more corrupt than the rest of the SEC schools. The difference is Saban, particularly landing the first few classes.
And Clemson, ugag, Miami, fsu, etal, would still kill us, so what's the point?Saban would be a bad fit at GT, he us an out physical you type of coach. If GT ran Baylor/ Oregon type of offense or just a pass first offense we would increase the "cool" factor dramatically and recruit much better.

I understood you the first time. Here's the deal, if there are no Eskimos, then you can't sell ice to them. After 3-4 years of losing to ugag, fsu, Clemson, and Miami, which recruits will come here because of Saban that CPJ can't bring in? Will Saban do that much better with 3 star kids in his Pro style O vs others on our schedule using the same system with 4 star kids? You can only pull off the on sides kick trick so many times---even Dabo and Richt catch on eventually! No, I wasn't saying Saban would do as well as Bama. He wouldn't do anywhere close to as well.
The question was how Saban would do at Tech, compared to CPJ. I'm pretty sure he would recruit much better than CPJ, although not nearly as well as he does at Bama.
CPJ is safe for as long as he wants to be here. We can go winless this year and it won't matter.
