Paul Johnson Raising The Standard at Georgia tech

Are the recruiting standards that much higher at Tech compared to the other ACC/SEC schools? I think think this argument has been somewhat embellished.

I was seeing thread titles on the home page that I couldn't find in the forums. Then I realized they were started by people I ignore. Lolz.
 
Duke has finished the season as a ranked team exactly one time (2013) in over 50 years.

Duke has won exactly one bowl game (2015) in over 50 years.

Just because Cutcliffe has CPJs number doesn't make them a good team.

The whole point of the "again" in his comment is that he's not talking about Duke 20 or 30 or 40 years ago, but in the past few years. And in the past few years Duke has been roughly as good as us... plus they've won head to head. It's a fair if limited point.

Again, someone will have to show me how Duke "in the past few years" has been roughly as good as us. What bowl games have they won?

They beat us head to head a couple of times. So what. A season is a complete body of work. And Duke simply doesn't have a track record of solid seasons.

To say Duke is as good as we are is just a weak troll.
 
Duke won the acc under spurrier in the 70s 1977 was only 39 years ago. Not that long

Duke has won 15 FBS games in the past two years. GT has won 12. As you said, a season is a complete body of work.

You may be right about saying Duke is just as good as we are is trolling---over the last two years, on average, they have been better.

Why are so called fans satisfied with our mediocre football program? That's the real question. Logic indicates that real fans would be demanding better. They seemed to during the Gailey days.
Our current coach has an FBS winning record at GT that is lower than Gailey's, and people act as if everything is just fine. Baffling.
 
Duke is now a football threat to anyone. to say otherwise would be insane
