Conference / Division Odds

Early lines have us -3.5 against BC

also saw UGA -3 vs UNC

Clemson -7.5 vs Auburn

16/1 for the conference and 10/1 for the division.

GT is a good bet with these odds. Last year's record has jaded the oddsmakers, but it was basically bad luck and lack of experience that the team ended up with 3 wins instead of 6. Probably a 7 win team this season and with good luck could take the division.

Battle of the perennially over rated teams. If I ever wrote a "get rich quick" book, the basis would be to always bet against these two teams.

Probably a 7 win team, but if anyone puts large money on that, they got some big cajones.

I feel like either 4/1 or 150/1 would have been more appropriate but I have no idea which.

I laid $200 on us in Vegas to cover 6.5 wins.
If that opening line stays anything close to 3 pts I'm all over us. As far as Coastal & Confrence odds ehhh. Not touching. I think the Unc wins division and Clemson wins ACC. I do have us at 8-4/5-3 in league. L's to Clem (Still think we can win that one) @ Pitt @ Unc and @ Uga (until we beat them consistently I pencil it in as a loss)

How does the division bet work? Is it the "winner" or the championship game representative? Those aren't always the same thing.

You guys remember we lost a bunch of games last year but forget we barely lost a bunch of games last year. So far we're relatively injury free on the offensive side and have a very experienced QB. I like our chances. This talk of 6 wins is gun shy.

I think we're gun shy because we were all shell shocked by how poorly the OL played last year, despite being a pre-season pick for the best OL unit in the ACC. There is only so much that an experienced QB and stable of RBs can do if the line doesn't perform. I think you are correct that Tech will do better than expected, mostly because the improvement at the skill positions will allow CPJ to make better adjustments. If we can get the OL on track, anything is possible.

The last 5 years have jaded the oddsmakers. What is GT's FBS win % over the last 5 years? .500 What is the over/under for wins in 2016? 6.5. In other words, a .500 FBS win %.

By the way, what is GT's FBS win % over the last 2 years? .500

We're a .500 football team. That's a safe bet.
