Any available coaches who have beaten ga?

While we are hypothesizing about future head coaches, I would like us to brainstorm about potential head coaches that have a track record of being involved with beating Mark Richt (who had a track record of always beating us and being competitive with Florida when he was at F$U - brilliant hire by ga).

I have gotten guilty enjoyment out of reading and posting on Stingtalk the past week. It has been very enlightening and the discussions have been top notch. Before getting back to the topic of the post, I think it is important for me to write that #1 I support the Jackets and will never root against Chan or our SAs. I would love nothing more than to end the season with 4 straight wins. (I will be pretty bitter if we don't though).

This being said.... Bobby Johnson at Vandy is the first name that comes to mind. There are some similarities between Tech's and Vandy's program, but not enough (Vandy doesn't even have an athletic dept.) This isn't the point of the post, anyway. The fact is that Bobby beat ga last year. Additionally, he gives them fits every year. Vandy gave ga the game on a silver platter this year.

I do not have much else. However, to fuel the discussion a bit, let's look at the SEC. Are there any coordinators at Auburn, Florida, or LSU available? How about Tennessee? We have had some luck with guys from there.

Maybe demjackets can answer this: do we have the means to steal an established head coach from anywhere? I have seen Jim Grobe thrown around, which I would support, mildly. Is this even worth discussing? If so, I would throw out Rich Brooks at Kentucky. Aaaaaaannnnnnnnnd..... I would also like to throw out the old ball coach, himself (ok, I have obviously run out of serious points).

Anyway, as you can see, I need some help with this. Thanks in advance.

Well, Bill Curry beat the Dawgs twice. He's certainly available.:lol2:

JoltinJacket,
Attempting (a) tongue-in-cheek humor based on another thread from today and (b) to mimic beej's frequent signature endings.

Grobe probably wont be leaving Wake, unless a job really intrigues him. I talked to him at the ACC champ game last season and he seemed like his family really loved the area and would retire there if they could.

Brooks wont happen.

Who knows about the ole' ball coach?:D

If we find one, we could pony up the means

Maybe he could help out our o-line.

gsu_paintballer,
wonders what happened to all that talent from the returning starters on our offensive line (I kinda like this, watch your back beej67)

Foul tease!

Now THAT would be intriguing - if only for the fact that it would cause sheer hatred from the mutts and he has Richt's number.

I don't know if he could make it with our academic stipulations though. You see how much he whined at the beginning of this year about South Carolina's "standards."

Ray Goff saw to it that UGA lost a lot --including twice to GT --he could outcoach Bill Lewis though. :D
