Mercedes-Benz Stadium

They may have been opening and closing it over the past few days. You can see from the panoramic shots on Monday it's fully open, Tuesday you can see the angled shadows indicating it's partially closed or closing, Wednesday it was almost completely closed, and yesterday it was closed.

so it takes 4 days to close

Apparently so. Now that I re-watched that time-lapse video, I think it did actually only close once in those 4 days. Looks like they closed it some, closed it some more, then finally all the way. Must have been different stopping points where they needed to do work or have inspections I assume.

How was the shadow/spotlight issue? That looked pretty horrendous and likely not pleasant to play in or watch from.

It was high noon when we first started, so wasn't as bad then with the sun directly overhead. Nearly the entire field was in the sun. Toured for close to 2 hours though, and by end, you could see how bad a setting sun was going to be. Was told though that you can count on any early season games played with the roof closed. Believe he said they likely wouldn't open it until October time frame for games, but could be subject to change based on what the decision makers wanted. Just too hot early in the season.

So the entire top sections of the seating are bleachers?!

We walked right past a set of these on the way to the roof. My understanding is that they were more like overflow seating. And there weren't a lot of bleachers around. I can attest though - this stadium was built for all seats to feel more on top of the action. The higher you went, the steeper it felt the stairs went. Several in our group commented that they would hate to be in the upper deck after one too many beers. I predict some situations of people falling down the stairs / rows at a higher frequency in this stadium...

Seeing the bottom 1/8 of the halo board from the nosebleeds was good thinking. That will piss some people off
I think it just looks that way from the pano/fish eye angle of the camera. The actual camera location is a good bit higher and further back than the nosebleeds will be.

I really hope that's the case. Otherwise it would be piss poor architecture. Would almost be as bad as having can lights not centered between the beams.

that camera is easily 8 or 10' higher and farther back than the very top row of the collapsible bleachers.

FWIW it does look like those collapsible bleachers will fold out towards the rear, so they will be further back than pictured, but the camera is definitely a good bit higher than the highest seat will be.

Why not smaller screens mounted every so often around the stadium for the upper nosebleeds?

$5 bud light better watch out for the Tennessee game.

Look for the fifteen tanker trucks connected to the East side of the stadium through hoses, and you could probably watch the suspensions rise at halftime.

tennessee fans will have those hoses inserted into their butts in no time

wait, are the tankers pumping beer in or pumping piss out? nevermind, doesn't make a difference.
