At least we aren't Tennessee

Schiano shouldn't be regarded as a pedophile enabler. There's simply not enough evidence, just some hearsay. This guy said that that guy said that Schiano said...

Dangerous trend in our country to blackball anyone for whom there is even the faintest, weakest suspicion of connection to child molestation. How about giving people the benefit of the doubt? If he was not involved, he is being treated terribly unjustly.

If Tennessee doesn't want him because he's not a good coaching fit, fine. But if they don't want him because of some unsubstantiated allegation, they're acting unethically.
Given your previous comments about child molesters, coupled with these, it really makes me wonder if there might be inappropriate photos of young boys on your computer somewhere. I hope not but damn, dude...

Apparently the AD had no communication with the boosters and went on his own. Also Schiano and Manning don't like each other (per VN)

That wouldn't surprise me. I think it was against Eli and the Giants that Schiano had his players fire off the ball during the end game kneel downs.

Edit: And now that I've actually read the whole thread, I see this is a repost.

Schiano recruited for Rutgers at our school when my son was a Junior/Senior. Our coaches were amazed at how hard he worked building relationships in Raleigh, NC as a Rutgers coach. He seemed to be a tireless worker and congenial guy. He was a success at Rutgers and failed in the NFL. He would have been an upgrade for Tennessee.

Meh. Guy was a game over .500 at Rutgers and his players at TB said he was a giant tool. Not enough to overcome the stench of even being mentioned in the same breath as that Sandusky mess. It may not be fair, but it is what it is. UT made a dumb move and got egg on their face when their fans weren't having it.

Right now, Vol Nation is the best thing next to going to Flavor Town with Guy Fieri.

Their fan base is so fixated on Gruden that anyone else is going to be already set up for failure. Someone put up a list of the top 5 coaches that Tennessee fans would actually accept without rioting.

1. Jon Gruden
2. Nick Saban
3. Urban Meyer
4. Dabo Swinney
5. Phillip Fulmer

Since they need a "unifier" so much, I can not believe Tee Martin hasn't been given more consideration

Seriously dude?

It is a MOU. Not a contract.
A lot of time the MOU contains enforceable terms. That’s basically what it is - the essential terms of the contract (term and base compensation) while smaller issues get worked out (moving expenses, car allowance, etc)

I also heard that Tennessee law has a 3 day cancellation period for state contracts, so that may have some impact as well.

Edit to add- it all depends on the language of this MOU. It could contain a no enforcement provision.

Schiano is too much of a sleaze but bring on ol straight laced lane Kiffin lmao
