Please convince me that Oklahoma is going to win...

Lots of stats flying around, but an interesting one from Peter Burns of ESPN is: Baker Mayfield is the 8th Heisman winning QB to face a Top 10 defense in a bowl game.

The previous 7 are a combined 1-6.

I think the one outlier was Danny Wueffel.

There's also a chart showing balance of all playoff teams since it started, and OK is the least balanced (off/def) by a lot. If I had to bet, I'd go with Vegas and take UGA in a close one, but Clemson or Alabama in the big game. Not sure Clemson doesn't win it all regardless of so-so offense by playoff standards. I don't think UGA can score much on either of those.
 
saxon has it bout right. I'll believe OU can stop ugag's run game when I see it. ugag will keep May on the bench CPJ style with a clock eating run game. Key is to not require Fromm to win it. For some unexplainable reason, I suspect Fromm will go down and Eason will shine---the dude is seriously good. OU is the weakest team in the CFP, which does not mean they can't win it all. OU linebackers are seriously good but their DL is not on the same planet as ugag/CU/Bama. If they beat ugag (unlikely), they are destined.

As for Clem vs ugag---ugag will be over their pay grade. Clem by 10 or Bama by 3.
 
AJC proclaiming mutt championdom per usual. OK by at least two scores. OK/Bama NC game. Book it!
 
Big 12 seems to be having a strong bowl season. Maybe the conference is better than we thought and Oklahoma will be stronger than they've been getting credit for. Of course, if Mayfield is out all bets are off. Funny thing is that if Tech were playing them in that situation we would make the backup look like the more obvious Heisman choice.

Not feeling good about Oklahoma at all. They don’t play against defenses like Georgia’s. If Mayfield is not right, this could get ugly.

Mayfield is an incredible passer, but I don't place too much hope on Oklahoma. Defense too weak. Bama or Clemson will shut UGA down though. Only question with those two teams is will they score enough. Auburn lost because their star RB was hurt and they couldn't get anything going offensively.

I just wish the seeding was different so UGA had to play Clemson or Bama this game.
 
UGAg had a weak schedule this season - including us. I'm hoping for some Oklahoma shock and awe offense.
 
Ive just got a sick feeling about uga. Probably bc everything else sports has sucked this year.
 
How many times has a true freshman QB won the national championship in the CFP or BCS era?
 
Winston was a redshirt Fr. The answer is none for true Fr.

One of these teams will stop Ga’s running game and Fromm will look like he did against Auburn the first time. That is why I sleep well at night. This ain’t happening.
 
Drew Lock from Missouri is probably uga’s most comparable opponent to Mayfield. Uga had its hands full with Lock.
