Who else would have the balls to put in a true freshman quarterback at halftime of the national championship game? And have it work better than could ever have been expected?

That QB is going to be amazing if he plays for them.

I think another great decision was to keep him in after he got stopped on his first series in the game. Could've easily gone back to Hurts then

I always skeptically wondered what particular thing about Nick Saban made him the greatest college football coach of all time, outside of stacking rosters full of 5 stars. I got my answer tonight.

Makes me wonder why he wasn't in all season. I guess you don't go away from a senior who has won as much as Hurts, but damn, they looked like a totally different offense with him in.

I think "genius" is a bit overstating. Alabama did zilch on offense in the first half, it's only logical to try another QB. Herbstreit had the same idea. The good decision was to keep him in more than one series

Because Nick Saban is super conservative unless he is desperate for a win.

And now Bama will sign all the recruits because Saban is gonna say, "Hey, you never know, we may need you to play a crucial role in the national championship game. You know we'll bench an upperclassman in front of you if he's not getting the job done." And dammit, he'll be right.
