Dr. J. Scott Long, Chancellor's Professor of Sociology and Statistics and Associate Vice Provost for Research, Indiana University, is the author of foundational research on gender and scientific careers, and on methods of data analyses. His numerous articles and books include From Scarcity to Visibility: Gender Differences in the Careers of Doctoral Scientists and Engineers, published by the National Academy Press. The Georgia Tech Center for the Study of Women, Science, and Technology is supported by the Office of the Provost.
