High Praise from Coach Cut

“I think Paul’s one of the best football coaches that I have seen in my long career,” Cutcliffe said. “He’s had an outstanding long career, so they have worked very hard to improve, and they’ve got a good team. We’ve got to play better than the last time we played (a 31-14 home loss to Virginia Tech) to have a chance to win.”
Don't they all say that kind of thing? In the BVG interview before the Louisville game, he was falling all over himself to talk about how good CPJ's offense is.

Did they ask for his thoughts on fumbling and throwing interceptions? Any indication whether he thinks they can win if they turn the ball over a lot?

In an alternate timeline, CPJ gets hired by Duke and has yearly death march games against GT
Except in that timeline, Cut turns Threet into a heisman winner along the way to winning the MNC in 2009.

That is not so far fetched
Hell, PJ was getting interest from NC State boosters back in 99

Also UNC. Especially early on in CPJ's tenure when the wound was still fresh, you could always find UNC fans lamenting that they didn't hire him when they had the chance.

Would Paul have cheated enough to make UNC fans happy?

Not Cutty. He went on a rant (a few seasons ago) about why would recruits come play in this offense and that GT would never put WRs in the NFL.

If I recall correctly, GT held a NCAA record for consecutive home coming wins until some dope scheduled ND. Gary Lanier saved the day and beat #11 ND.
We then lost homecoming to Duke the following year.
Win GT.

I remember that. It was not a rant. I thought it was pretty reasonable, actually, though CPJ didn't think so.
