Unis for UVA Game

I like the blue look and I also like the fact that it helps establish what our colors are, even if navy is primarily used as an accent. When people see us in the blue, they know it's one of our colors. A lot of you would probably be surprised at how many out there outside of our program and fanbase think our colors are yellow and black.

Most unintentionally ironic post ever.

Nobody knows our colors are white and gold so let's fix that by wearing lots more blue. Brilliant!

I've got no problem with the occasional blue jersey. Blue is our accent color and occasionally takes Center Stage. There are ways of doing that that doesn't diminish that we are white and gold. All blue uni or blue pants isn't it.

No, that was exactly my point. I don't want to see them every game. I like the once or twice a year thing to get the color out there but yes I like to primarily stick with white and gold. But I don't mind changing things up a game or 2. And like I said it helps get it out there that our other color is navy, not black.

I don’t think we’ve ever gone full French fry.

Pitt did a few years back. I don't think it was well-received.

I am not sure how I’d ever go back in time to find out, but I thought there was a night game at BDS in 90s when we did. If my memory is correct, it was obv under OLeary. Having a hard time with opponent though.

EDIT: Did as much research as I could via YouTube and an old media guide. I am almost positive the game I am recalling was a Thur night loss to the 'Hoos under in 1993 (not OLeary). We were typically still wearing navy tops at home back then and for this one we came out in gold tops. White pants though so not "full French fry".

Most especially because our mascot is running around in yellow & black.

We have Never worn Triple Gold in a football game.

An aside - Navy did during Roger Staubach years.

Which I've always thought could easily be fixed with a gold and white sweater... like what Florida does with their green gator.

Also really doesn't help that our ESPN graphics package is primarily blue instead of gold.

Tech's colors were yellow and black until 1987 when Ross went to blue jerseys/white pants. He said he didn't like black. The numbers and stripes on the uniforms were black until 1987. The black/white/black stripes on the gold pants remained until 1991. All the fans wore yellow and black to the games up to 1987, not blue and beige. Even the band wore yellow and black uniforms until 1987 or later.

I still wear my bright yellow T-shirt with the black "GT FOOTBALL" letters on front to the games. No beige for me. Beige is a passive, earth tone that does not show up in the stands, and definitely not a fight color. Fight colors are bright and bold, like yellow and black.

The one they use at commercial breaks is yellow and black and has the old Buzz with his hands on his hips. Oh, the humanity.
