NAVY's Ken Niumatalolo vs Monken if GT keeps Spread Option

How about we don't have to continue the option?

Thats fine, but some on this board are looking for an Easy transition that a new coach doesn't have to take 2-3 years to recruit for his offense.

Someone put up Monken's name and he would be a good coach, but Ken has better stats than Monken and has run the Spread option for a longer time.

GT can pick any HC and staff they want, but I think if you were to keep the Spread Option than ken and his staff would be my choice.

Monken is 2 years younger and is familiar with the state...so neither.

Does he? Both of their resumes look pretty similar to me, only Monken took over two ööööty teams and immediately turned them into winners. Ken N took over Paul Johnson's Navy team that was already a winner.

I wouldn't be mad with Niumatololololol as coach, but I think Monken is a better fit. He's got southern recruiting connections and already has experience at GT. Ken has neither.

Ken Niumatalolo isn't coming here.

GSU tried to get Ken's offensive coordinator 5 years back before HC Fritz & his Pistol Option came to GSU. At the time Ken's OC had a son with a brain tumor and NAVY and the community were helping him out and did not want to take the GSU head coaching job. If you wanted to keep the Spread Triple under a competent Head Coach and OC than Ken would be your man.

I dont see GT replacing PJ with another Spread T-Option HC. I think GT will try something else.

The one thing I like about these two guys is that I think CPJ will consult and breakdown film. I think he will offer suggestions and give his input. I also think it will keep CPJ retired.

Kind of like Johnny Carson sending Letterman jokes for his monologues.

One thing I do know:

The new coach doesn’t need to bash the option and what it’s done for GT.

Basically, don’t pull a Van Gorder and piss off 50-75% of the fan base. New hire needs to be respectful towards what CPJ has done here.

True, and Ken took over after PJ turned Navy around, but he kept the winning going. Yes Monken turned around GSU and Army, but Ken had proven that he can take a spread option team and keep it on top.

Van Gorder is a nasty word on any board & you should be admonished by the admin! :crapstorm:

Oh yeah. If the new coach comes in and starts bashing the option, I'm ööööing out the door, yo. I won't give a dollar for that trash.

Air Force coach?
Troy Calhoun, I know you were funning, but I could not even think of his name. He stinks.
