5* UGAg recruit received brand new Ford Raptor yesterday...

Majoring in engineering. Kirby says he chose the best engineering school in GA...said it with a straight face.
Everyone already knows he lies to recruits now, so he doesn't need to hide it anymore.

Is it really cheating if the rulemakers are never enforcing the rules?

when are the geniuses at GT gonna figure out how trump all that with bitcoin or whatever is new that has replaced bitcoin that the NCAA can't track

gotta be some kinda way to funnel phony contracts thru GTRI from a private entity that pay our guys to turn out the lights or turn on the sprinklers so that we can get some top recruits

If you artificially cap the income possibilities (sham azz NCAA amateurism rules) an underground economy will arise to fill in

No different than prohibition in the 20s

We’ll find a way to screw the blockchain up.

I’m pretty these 80kers in here got a couple 4Runners or a Ford Ranger with a lift kit that they can gift these recruits

Good for the recruit to at least think abt trying to major in Engr

Didn't we sign a player from IMG last recruiting class

If we did, Why didn't TPR be all over this recruit?

Even when there are academic qualifiers GT does poorly at getting these guys to take a serious look at GT

Yet another in the win column for Boaty

Guys it’s totally legit he’s just taking a loan against FUTURE earnings. Everyone knows this. He should just be glad he didn’t try to buy that Raptor in AZ. I’m not even sure if they make it to the lot before someone pays 10k over MSRP for them.
Actually that's a recruiting violation for improper benefits. Not that anyone could ever enforce it or would even try. They'd rather enforce small-potato $300 of clothes given to a current player by a former player.

It is the best engineering school in the state. For dumbass jocks.

Can we report uga's recruits to IRS? We could start a hashtag on twitter and maybe get some attention so other people report them too. Let IRS take care of this since NCAA won't.

It would be the bag men we would have to report, but they may be reporting the gifts on their taxes. IRS doesn't talk to the NCAA.

Quick, someone send him the transcript of the uGA president explaining to the Board of Regents that uGA's engineering program and GT's engineering program don't overlap because rural Georgia can't afford GT students' salaries and needs more lower payed engineers.

Isn't that what one of the Gagger running backs did when he couldn't pass the then mandated graduation test? He went to private school as a senior.
Caleb King, came to my high school. I'd say he was dumb as a bag of rocks, but that would be insulting to the rocks. He was taking 7th and 8th grade classes as a senior.

There are scholarships/grants given to private high schoolers in ATL all the time. How often...IDK but it does happen. Can IMG be any different?

I've always thought this when it comes to the bankroll situation with boosters... One of the most popular passwords is "123456". Not sure how many of the hog farmers that boost Auburn, bammer, and ugag realize that. A Romanian hacker just needs one busted account to unravel the whole thing.

Welcome to college athletics over the last forever years... There is a reason the same handful of schools stay at the top always. They can pull this off and nothing ever comes of it.

Wonder where this guy is today ...jail?

Vikings waived RB Caleb King.
This is hardly a surprise. Already a roster longshot, King put his football future in jeopardy by allegedly fracturing another man's skull and leaving him with possible brain damage over the weekend. In the meantime, King has been released from custody without charges. After showing up to camp out of shape last season, he's running out of chances to carve out an NFL career. Former University of Georgia running back Caleb King has found himself in a familiar spot -- behind bars.
This time, King was arrested in Gwinnett County early Thursday morning and charged with DUI.
King, 24, of Lilburn, booked into the Gwinnett jail just before 2 a.m. Police also charged with King with improper lane change and failure to dim headlights, booking records show.
As of early Friday morning, jail records show King had not met his $2,140 bond.
No other details of the arrest were available.
King was a star at Parkview High School and Greater Atlanta Christian School before committing to UGA.
Since then, he has struggled to stay out of his own way.
During his time at Georgia, King was arrested for failing to appear for a court date on a speeding ticket. He missed his final season because he was declared academically ineligible.
He signed as a free agent with the Minnesota Vikings but was arrested in April for punching a man outside a birthday party.
According to the complaint, the man was waiting for a ride home after the party in Oak Grove on April 28 when King accused him of calling him names.
The complaint says King punched the man in the face and then pulled him out of a car by his neck.
Prosecutors say the 22-year-old man suffered a skull fracture and needed 19 stiches.
The Vikings cut King three days after his arrest.
King was charged in August.

Isn't it easier to catch a kid who has no income but spends a lot of money on trucks, clothes and what not rather than a bag man who makes a "charitable donation"?

Whether the gifts are considered donative transfers (subject to the gift tax) or a transfer for consideration (subject to income tax) is not obvious. If the former, then the donor has the reporting obligation; if the latter, then it would be the recipient who'd have to report it. And either way, it's entirely possible no actual tax would be owing, due to a variety of minimums, thresholds, exceptions, etc.

I would say the IRS would never care about these things, but then the FBI just investigated a bunch of basketball programs for similar stuff, so who know?
