Do we have any this year? I think vance walker will be. Mj has a shot and so does daryal richards. I also think morgan burnett with be first team all american. Im so impressed with him. With his new role on this defense he will get a bunch of interceptions. My darkhorse is jahi word daniels.

What is the point in taking a shot at a Georgia Tech student-athlete...does it make you feel big?

Additionally, he is not a superstar...but he is a much better than average starting CB in the ACC. He plays the run well...and handled the "man on an island" coverage Tenuta had them in pretty well. He also received some blame on this board for getting beat when he simply tried to hold on when the safety blew coverage that they were supposed to pick up.

I am far from a football expert...but I know enough to realize that every time a CB gets beat it is not his fault.
 
I agree with hivered. Jahi is actually pretty good. Thats why i said darkhorse.
 
Everybody on here seems real tense lately. One wrong word and a fight is goin on. I think im going to stop posting on here for awhile. Not only because of that but im just taking some time off.

I don't know that people are tense. OTOH some posters clearly have no clue what they're talking about and people are calling them on it. That's pretty much how Stingtalk is all the time.

I actually feel kind of special. Thats the first fight I have started here. :hsugh:

Does seem to be a lot of fights around here... Thats why I hang out at the Braves message board lately.

Are you saying you think GT will have somewhere between 2-4 all americans on our team this year? I know you are saying we will have two (walker and burnett)

Not trying to be rude, but my bet is we don't have more than one...if that. Walker was 3rd or 2nd team all american from one publication thats it....but I doubt we have more than one from any major publications.

Give him a break. He didn't "slam" Jahi...he just expressed a natural reaction to someone suggesting that he is an All American candidate. Saying that someone isn't one of the best six corners in the nation is hardly a personal attack.

He is. He was a victim of what turned out to be a bad scheme last year which made him look much worse than he is. No one's trying to say he won't have a good year. However, realistically, that does not mean he is going to be an All American.

If he said that Jahi was not one of the best 6 CB's in the nation that would be fine.

The quote was "LOL, Jahi Word-Daniels". The "laugh out loud" at the mention of Jahi was harsh in my opinion.

YJK has since explained himself further though....it is a dead issue.
 
All things being equal between a corner and the receiver he's covering, the receiver knows where he's going. Man to man is always going to give the receiver the advantage unless he is by far overmatched physically.

Another thing that made JWD look bad was by design. We gave huge cushions on the short out route on purpose. See VT last year. Made an average QB(in our practice jersey, I might add) look like an All American.
