This is a good offseason topic, I guess. The changes that could affect us:

*The ACC will still be represented in the Belk Bowl (if we ever get invited....) but the SEC and Big 10 will rotate. The bowl has been ACC vs. SEC since 2014.

*The Gator Bowl will be ACC vs. SEC each season (is currently SEC vs Big Ten or ACC, I believe)

*The ACC loses the Music City Bowl, which will be SEC vs Big 10 each season.

*The ACC gains the Holiday Bowl, which will be ACC vs. Pac 12.

*An ACC team will play in the Outback Bowl vs SEC in years that a Big 10 team makes the Orange Bowl.

Looks pretty good for us, so we lost MCB but got Holiday, guaranteed in Gator now, and provisional Outback spot. Right at the top with the SEC in number of guaranteed bowl spots.

The Belk Bowl is in Charlotte. Lots of direct flights, so if it's a fan base that travels well, should get a good turnout. I don't know how well Big 10 teams travel, but if they made this decision, I assume their research says they travel quite well.

Gator bowl move makes a lot of sense. You are surrounded by SEC and ACC teams, and it's FL, so the turnout should be good.

Holiday Bowl probably isn't going to sell well. West coasters don't really care enough about CFB to go watch mid-tier teams play - even if it's one of their own. Tying in with the ACC seems like a "We gotta try something" kind of move.

I will miss MCB as a possible destination since Nashville is an easy drive and a fun city, but weather in Jacksonville will always be more desirable so that's probably a win for the ACC. The Holiday Bowl in San Diego would be fun but it's a pretty expensive destination. Overall, these changes seem to be an upgrade for the conference.

Unless you are playing the 2006 ACCC there

Losing MCB sucks. Nashville is one of the better bowl destinations. Holiday Bowl is a pretty strong against #3 Pac12 but it's definitely not a local road trip.

Guaranteed Gator is good as long as they don't call it the TaxSlayer Bowl again.

I wonder if the PAC losing 8 out of the last 10 times in the Holiday Bowl had anything to do with them looking for a new set of opponents.

Gator vs Music City seems like a wash since that was previously an either/or.

Looks to me we lost Cap One for Outback, which sucks, as that was the previous arrangement with Big 10. A San Diego trip sounds cool though.

So, eh, seems pretty even I guess.

I didn't realize the ACC hasn't been in the MCB since 2015. Not much of a loss.

I don't really give alöööö. We're not playing for bullshit bowls any longer.

Man what is happening to the pac12. Can hardly squeak a decent team into the Top 10 in football and have been a 4ish bid league in basketball.

I wouldn’t have minded the Nashville, but it’s hard to beat San Diego. What do we have to do to get Hawaii added?

Unless you are playing the 2006 ACCC there
Unless you like sitting in drizzling rain
Unless you like losing to WF.
Unless you like watching an entire game with ZERO touchdowns.
Unless you like watching CCG take TC out of the game in favor of a field goal.
Unless you like watching all of the WF receivers look better than our all-world CJJr.
