We are getting tall. Someone should look at the average height of the roster now and compare it to an estimated 2020 roster

You can definitely see the difference in OL body type this regime prefers compared to the previous. Long arms are a must in pass pro.

Maybe it's simply what I've become used too over the past several years but to get a recruit with this many major school offers (as contrasted to the military academies and the Western Carolina category colleges) is pretty striking, the new staff is obviously doing something different ... perhaps the apparent appeal of the "Waffle House Connection" has been understated...

In the video, check out the guy on the left in the purple shirt. Coach?

Scattered, smothered, covered reels in all the best recruits.

Recruiting is better (and I'm loving every second of it), but let's not pretend that we didn't get guys with P5 offer lists in the past. Look at our 2018 class...Charlie Thomas, TK, James Graham, Juanyeh, Jaylon King (probably others? I got tired of clicking through 247) all were highly sought after recruits with strong ACC/SEC offer lists. The difference is we're getting mostly those type of guys now and less (if any) of the small offer sheet "reaches".

Rankins certainly has one of the better offer sheets of the 2020 class so far. Happy to have him.

Posted this on another board. Nothing scientific, just looking at some of our final classes in the previous regime against this class with guys getting offers from factories. Still time for the offer sheets to grow for the 2020 guys too.

We have a lot of one-off guys in 2020 so far. But it is a longer list. That 2016 class really stood out to me. Shame half of them aren’t even on the roster right now.

2018
Juanyeh - Auburn Florida
Graham - UGA Michigan Auburn Miami
Griffin - LSU
Thomas - Auburn
Chimedza - UGA FSU

2017
Bonds - Clemson
Carpenter - Miami
Askew - OU Auburn FSU
Swilling - Bama, LSU, Michigan, USC
Jordan Swilling - Bama, LSU, Michigan, USC, Florida, FSU, Miami
Henderson - Michigan

2016
Woods - UGA FSU Miami Florida
Jones - Bama Auburn Florida
Hawkins Anderson - UGA
Mills - Bama Auburn FSU Florida
Braun - Ohio State Auburn Florida Miami
Gantt - Ohio State Clemson FSU Miami
Bridges - Bama Clemson Penn State

2020
Brooks - Bama Ohio State UGA OU UF PSU
Huff - OU Auburn Penn State
Rankins - FSU Miami Auburn
Gibbs - LSU Michigan
Turner - PSU
King - Texas
Ward - FSU
Wright - Miami
Howard - Miami

Cool post. Makes me think; what is the official list of "factory" schools? I'll give it a shot:

SEC: Auburn, Florida, Tenn, Alabama, Georgia, LSU, Texas A&M (?)
B12: Texas, Oklahoma
B10: Michigan, Penn State, Ohio State
PAC 12: USC, Oregon
ACC: Clemson, FSU, Miami
+ Notre Dame

I think that's pretty much it; short list (18) when you think about it.

Definitely a solid list. I'd include Washington in this list and (when only looking at offer lists) exclude Tenn.

If we can recruit at around the 20th rank in the country, that positions us as "best of the rest". Which I think might just be good enough to compete for big things when the stars line up right.

I was thinking along the lines of, recruiting clout and resources pushed into football. Tennessee has been crap on the field but they have consistently recruited high classes. Very high under Butch. I don't know much about Washingtons commitment to football, they seem to be flavor of the month for now.

The next group that I'm hoping we can top has some of the following as members:
South Carolina, Ole Miss, Virginia Tech, Stanford, Michigan State, Iowa, Texas Tech, TCU, etc....
