the kids are screaming to me to take them to Six Flags. I haven’t been there in like 10 years. For those who have been, has the park changed much in those years?

I’ve always loved the mind bender when I was a little kid and I thought the park was fun 8-10 years ago when I last visited but I have been told by a lot of people that the park is very run down, dirty and a total waste of money

I don’t want to spend a lot of money to have a miserable experience but if anyone on here has been recently, is it still with the money to do and take the family?

Hey I started it with OFF TOPIC. This is Atlanta. I figured I would at least ask on here because Tech is now all about 404 which is in fact Atlanta

My wife took my boys. She said to get a pass that allows you to skip some of the lines or something like that.

It’s a total waste of time I scoured the park and couldn’t find anything related to Georgia Tech football.

I’ve been several times in the past year. The park has really doubled down on roller coasters — there are many more than when I was a kid, decades ago, but there are as a result fewer mild rides.

The food is very poor, the food service is so bad it is almost amusing, the clientele is generally pretty low class. But it’s the only place around for roller coasters. You and your party’s interest in those should drive your decision.

It kind of sucks, but can kind of be fun at times too. Summer in Atlanta may be hot. Hope this helps.

Went 5 years ago and my neck still hurts.

The old roller coasters are like getting into 1,000 small car wrecks. Not smooth at all.

I will say that the Superman ride was fun and the Batman one was very bizarre.

Several times? I admire your ability to not have motion issues. I lost my ability to ride the looping coasters about 10 years ago.

The new Georgia Cyclone is actually pretty awesome and super smooth. Also, they have changed the seats on the Ninja (Blue Hawk?) to make them a little less concussion-y. Once every 5 years or so is plenty...

There was a time when I enjoyed coasters, but you're right that now they give me headaches. I don't ride the rides – the kids I take do.

I went maybe two years ago? Went on a Tuesday in the summer and the park was mostly empty, I don't think I waited in line for any ride more than a couple minutes. Goliath, Batman, Superman all had no lines, rode them all multiple times in a row without getting off. Ninja is now Blue Hawk or something- as a tall person I never got whiplash on it before and I preferred the old seats, the new ones have a rubber harness that feels like you are being held in place by a massive rubberband, a lot of pressure on your chest and shoulders. The older rides were rough, particularly scream machine is awful. The park definitely didn't look great, a lot of the rides had lots of rust and missing paint and were definitely in need of a refresh. You can probably still get cheap tickets with coke cans or at the grocery store. Worth it for $15-25/person, wouldn't pay more than that though.

Back in the day, there were ways in without paying. I always had a season pass, but I had high school friends that would just go to weak parts of the fence, the unwatched parts, and just climb over or push through a gap
