Was on earlier this morning but replay coming up at 8:15. 680 was set up outside the Tech Square Waffle House and they will be at practice today also. CGC gave Finneran a custom GT jersey which he had on, and Steak wearing a GT shirt. Is this real life?

There's also a video of the interview down in the twitter comments.

I can't tell you how refreshing it is to have such positive vibes from the local media. People want to embrace the local team. I know we're in for a rough rebuild year, but I'm definitely enjoying the programs vibes right now.

I heard it when it came on live and it was interesting to me how you could tell all 3 like Coach Collins and the way he embraces the media and the access he allows. It definitely makes their job easier and it certainly gives GT more visibility. Exciting times.

Also meant to mention that Coach Collins made the comment about the ACC Network and Comcast that he was with Xfinity and they (Comcast) had yet to pick up the ACCN. And encouraged all Xfinity subscribers to call/text/tweet Comcast and let them know we want it so that there is impetus for them to pick up the station. I'm sure it can't hurt to have the head coach of one of the teams in the league mentioning specifically when one of the biggest cable providers in the country isn't carrying it. Hopefully, enough people will contact them and they'll pick up the channel.

Diggin' Geoff in the old-school Falcons hat. That was as carefully selected as today's Waffle House cup.

I misunderstood the first time I watched it... I thought CGC had given those guys the GT gear they had on. They were wearing it on their own. At the end of the interview, CGC said we got to do something about that Russel gear you guys have on. Then proceeded to tell them he'd have a care package waiting for them as soon as they got to the stadium. The man flat out gets it.

Collins is doing a hell of a job covering all the bases

CGC said he's lost 50 lbs on a keto diet since he was at Temple.

But, can he coach? :scared:

One of the first things I learned when I was coaching was that better players make better coaches. Pretty hard to argue that he's bringing in a different (higher) caliber of player. So he's already checked one of the first boxes for "can he coach?"

He'd also look a lot better if we could get our players waivers through the NCAA

I wonder how much money CGC is raking under the table from the WH guys.

This is going to get disliked but like I give a rats ass.
Where the F were Shapiro and those other mutt jock swingers when we were winning in Athens, going to 3 ACCCGs and going to two Orange Bowls, beating a team that had been ranked No. 1?
Shapiro and his collection of tools never liked PJ from the start. They didn’t like the offense and they didn’t like it when he called them out on their BS (re: the Chernoff interview)
CGC is in a honeymoon period now, so they’re all over him. But those guys are front runners of the worst sort and if CGC doesn’t win, they will turn on him in a heartbeat
For CGC’s sake, I’m glad he’s getting off to a good start with the asshats of Atlanta sports talk radio
But on the whole, I find them useless

Tough times reveal who your true friends are. You're right, for whatever reason our program hasn't resonated with local sports media. I think CGC is trying to change that but like you said we won't know until the chips are down. Killing them with kindness is a good start.

Oh absolutely. Should the most likely thing happen in the Clemson game this year, they're going to rip the program to shreds and continue to do so all season. This is a 'set em up to knock em down' game.

CGC seems like a very genuine person, and being likable might be his greatest asset. But I'm sure he's been around coaching long enough to know that some of the people he deals with day to day are not sincere, and would throw him under a bus in a second to further their own career. I respect CPJ for never pandering to the media when he knew they were lining up against him, but CGC's approach is probably smarter. A good executive doesn't let pride get in the way of advancing his goals.
