Dabo just isn’t a good coach

Anyone else think this clown is overrated?

He relies on his assistant coaches to do all the real work while he just stands on the sidelines clapping and praising God.

I’d like to see how he does without super high paid assistants. Dude was a ööööing WR coach before Bowden got fired. That’s about where he belongs. Promoted way over his level and has lucked into the school spending so much more money on recruits. I could probably coach that team to 11-12 wins a year with that staff and the money they spend.

He’s no Saban that’s for sure. Bama would be making a big mistake if they hired Dabo after Saban retires/dies.

Spurrier calls him “Cheerleader Coach”.

Dabo is genuine...that’s why he’s been successful.

He's a clown, bro.

I’m honestly glad we have Collins who isn’t so clownish.

Dabo is a great guy and a great coach. He has built a nice program at Clemson. I'd love for us to pull off the upset in 2 weeks.
Yeah, he’s built a “nice” program. Not an “elite” one.

I imagine this year they’ll start regressing to the mean a little. In 2 or 3 years, they’ll be middle of the pack in their division.

I think that regression starts this year.

Say what you will, Dabo is doing a fantastic job. He has 2 national titles. He knows how to run a program. He is a great recruiter and he has hired great positional coaches. Collins needs to try and follow his example.

If the coaching thing doesn't work out, he can always go back to what he's really good at...

Time for GT to start to reset the balance of power. That said, if you don't think Dabo is an outstanding HEAD coach aka program leader, go watch the ESPN feed of their spring game where he talks with Herbstreit most of the time. His clowning is part of his plan and it works for him. He also knows what he wants from his team and coaches and he pretty much gets it.

Collins is following his playbook in setting the high expectations and culture. No question the $$$ matter, but hiring good people matters more. I'm excited for what I expect to happen at GT over the next several years. I don't expect Clemson to slip back much if any. We have to climb up to them - and stepping on some mutts along the way as a boost up!
