We're the only ACC team to ever lose to Citadel

This was not Clemson, not UGA, hell not even UNC. Anyone using talent deficiency as an excuse for this loss should be embarrassed. Our Jimmy’s & Joe’s >>>>>> theirs....by far. Coaching on the other hand. Are we really surprised with the P5 experience level on this staff??? Outside of Key 2 years max and that was temple...lol.

Who is arguing there was a talent deficiency vs. the Citadel? We absolutely should have had the talent to beat an FCS school like The Citadel. That said, let's not pretend like we never lost to inferior teams under PJ. We're going to have several more games over at least the next few years to judge Collins as a coach.

“Proud of the way our guys fought”

“King earned it in practice”

“Not sure why I keep calling TOs at bad times but it’s effort based”
Honestly can't tell which of these are jokes, if not all of them, but did he actually ööööing say that about King? Because why the öööö would anyone put King on the field in a game losing situation in OT over Wells?

Name a single CPJ loss that was as bad or worse than losing to a FCS team who had never beaten an ACC team (or GT) in their 90 year history of football and who had lost this season to Elon and Towson. Name one.

Didn't say there were any as bad. There were plenty of bad ones, though. Maybe we need more than three games without his recruits to fully judge Collins, is all I'm saying. Some of the posters on this board are acting downright hysterical.

I thought the triple option neutralizes personnel advantages.

What the hell did you guys expect when switching from CPJ? This is the expected (to me at least) and necessary growing pains. I like Collins. He’s learning too. It will be okay. We don’t have an oline, qb, or dline. It will be okay.
I expected us to lose to better teams because we're shifting our offensive strategy. Citadel is not a better team. And many of the areas we sucked at had nothing to do with a shift in offensive strategy and everything to do with inept coaching decisions.

This is the part that doesn’t bode well for the future. I can see uneven play and bad games while rying to move forward and install a new scheme.

This embarrassing loss was due to poor coaching decisions from the hapless O-coordinator to the worst late game clock mgt I’ve seen.

Well, Wells missed a PAT
öööö happens. He hadn't missed one in something like 54 attempts in a row. He also probably was out of his element because he didn't play last week for some reason. But King had missed öööö left and right all last season, so he had no business being on the field instead of Wells. Poor coaching, plain and simple.

An offense that could run up the middle on Citadel? Was that my fault? I feel like somebody should have said something earlier if that was too much to ask for.
