I’m sure it was discussed in the game thread but we saw some under center looks in the game. I haven’t gone back to look. One of them was in a 3rd and 1 just before the end of half.

Anyone notice any of the other instances and what the situations were? Glad to see us finally doing this

To me it felt like the first time we did what we say we'll do in pressers: suit the skills of our players and go with what's working. Against a great run defense, no less.

Keep this up and we're gonna see Ahmarean Brown eviscerate man coverage through the rest of the season.
 
We have been running option a lot this year but I’m not sure it was from under center. Plus the run blocking looked spectacular today. Most big plays were not cut blocks.
 
We have been running read option, but we ran it more frequently and much better yesterday. I hope we keep at it, because that is CLEARLY the strength of our team. It also makes the passing much easier because the defense gets focused on trying to tackle JPM and then we hit them over the top.

I wouldn't call it spectacular; but significantly improved. Pass blocking even looked improved at times, it just wasn't as consistent. Overall a good performance to build off of. I was pleasantly surprised.

Graham's TD pass was beautiful. Pocket collapsing. He stepped up and delivered

That would be absolutely fine with me. By far the biggest frustration with PJ's offense for me was his stubbornness to run the same offense he ran for the past 30 years. If anything, it went further backward by deemphasizing the passing game even more once he figured out we just couldn't do the run and shoot well (he simplified the offense every year, by his own words). The modern option looks something like Tulane or Auburn with lots of short, accurate RPO passing and elaborate route trees as a standard part of the package. If he had just evolved (not changed, but evolved) away from the pure veer and its two wing backs plus BB, I believe recruiting would've been much easier and he would still be here today. Even Navy evolved under Niumatalolo and started running the more modern RPO style with 4-wides and shotgun sets. Why was PJ so damned stubborn in this area? It's like Vad Lee and the diamond formation soured him forever on the forward pass. Water under the bridge, I guess.

Pass blocking was still awful and poor. JG was running for his life and just made athletic ass passes and his receivers helped him out too. Overall; very impressive way to put it all together even if the pieces aren’t all perfect yet. Awesome game, generally well coached, and exceptionally executed. A very reassuring game for me, and my support for CGC had never wavered. Go Jackets.
 
Excellent coaching adjustments by CDP. We threw it more early in the game but Miami's front 7 was generating more pressure than we could handle, so we went run heavy in the 2nd half, used some under-center looks, and the OL responded extremely well and played more physical. Excellent hard running too by Mason.

Pass blocking was inconsistent and Graham is scared of it as evident by immediate roll outs on every play. There were times where there was a pocket for him to step up, but he was rolling out and then ended up running from the defensive players who turned from play side blocks to chase him.

Mason was an absolute beast. If he went down at first (or even second) contact, those 8 yard gains would have been 2 or 3 yard gains and we would have punted a LOT.

OT was brilliantly called. Mason, Mason, Mason. I wonder if the OL and Mason had told the staff "they can't stop us"

Yep. Hopefully it doesn't turn into an unbreakable habit.
 
It was great seeing a tired defense (Miami) in the fourth air due to our offense putting together a few sustained drives with a sound run game. JPM was able to exploit that into overtime.
