Harvin didn’t positively change the outcome of a single game. He’s a fine punter. He will be mentioned in the context of “Who was that punter we had when Johnson was the coach...?”
Miami game and USF game.Harvin didn’t positively change the outcome of a single game.
I'm sure a lot of posters are with all the trashing of our roster that has gone on this season.Surprised to see an OL on there.
He didn't throw a touchdown pass that directly contributed to us just barely winning a game against Miami? Huh, must have imagined that.Harvin didn’t positively change the outcome of a single game.
Coach did say he was implementing the Saban coaching process....I really don't know what happened to our kickers/special teams this season.
Ok. With his foot.He didn't throw a touchdown pass that directly contributed to us just barely winning a game against Miami? Huh, must have imagined that.
We only had 3 wins this year, and this was from Coach after the South Florida win, “Pressley Harvin, at punter, significantly impacted the game,” Collins said.Ok. With his foot.
finally getting some real OL coaching. That's nothin', watch this:
HEY, What's a Paul Johnson recruited offensive lineman doing on the All ACC List?
Damn right. We only had 3 wins this year, and this was from Coach after the South Florida win, “Pressley Harvin, at punter, significantly impacted the game,” Collins said.
From that SFU game, Harvin averaged 41.3 yards per punt, dropped four of his six punts inside the 20-yard line and had only one returned, for eight yards.
Both our kickoff and punt coverage teams were pretty bad. Anytime there was a return it went for a big gain.Damn right.
I thought Harvin was pretty great at the inside the 20 kicks all year. He was inconsistent on other kicks. The coverage could have been better: it was inconsistent.
Punt coverage was average. We did give up some long returns but we also made some good stops. The gunners were typically always near the returner but weren't great at always making first contact. We also punted a ton so the other team got a lot of chances and it wears out your players. This was a huge difference from 2018 but that year I think we punted the least of any team in the country; that has a difference. Both our kickoff and punt coverage teams were pretty bad. Anytime there was a return it went for a big gain.
It wasn't EVERY game. It did happen too much and I have no idea what he thought he was doing in the UGA game. I think he claimed the guy held him and he couldn't get turned. Our first coverage guy to get to the returner was consistently 10-15 damn yards past him when he caught the ball, not even getting in the returner's way. It was brutal to watch, every damn game. Watch the Georgia game, and watch CGC illustrate with his hands when said coverage guy came back to the sidelines. It was maddening as a fan, can't imagine how it was as a coach.
Yep. Unfortunately just one too many bad punts and not enough dropped in.Only to our fan base. Reality is he was not very consistent this year.
Cri moarI'm sure a lot of posters are with all the trashing of our roster that has gone on this season.
