Thought that title would catch your attention.

With Lucas Johnson leaving, who are your candidates for the coveted #7 shirt? The two that jump to mind are Mason and AB.
 
I would prefer one of the incoming freshman who was close to Gowdy wear it permanently in his honor. Maybe Miles Brooks? or Sims/Tuck?

The hard thing with Bryce is that most of the established team would not know him well. It’s the incoming class that would be closest with him, but it may be hard to rotate because their playing time as true freshman could be spotty.

We could hold it aside and not let anyone wear it this year. Essentially reserve it for Gowdy as a way to honor him.

I think some sort of Simba or Lion patch somewhere on the jersey or sticker on the helmet would be nice. Maybe even a 7 sticker on the helmet but I agree I wouldn't do anything with the number 7 jersey because he wasn't 7 here, at least not yet.

I thought these were earned. I'm not in favor of any freshman wearing the single digit.
 
My number in high school was 7 too. When they saw the dreaded number 7 on the right back they knew their shins were about to get murdered.
