The new thread in the basketball forum about UGA transfer Rodney Howard got me thinking...

Historically have there been more GT players who transferred to UGA?
Or UGA players who transferred to GT?

And have the transfers been more successful one direction or the other?

You're joking, right?

I can't think of any GT ----> UGA transfers.

Wait... we have a basketball forum?

We've had a few incoming transfers from Athens Correctional. They made a good decision so it worked out well for them.

The only transfer that comes to mind going to the Cesspool was Quincy Carter (I may have mis-spelled that first name). He was not technically a transfer but you know what I mean. That was a disastrous decision for him as he lived most of a lifetime with addiction and other problems. I hope he has straightened things out.

We had a kid sign with us, play minor league baseball then a few years later he went to UGAy as a safety. Jake Skole maybe.

Quincy Carter was the same. He originally signed with Tech, went to play (baseball, I think) and then came back to UGA as a QB. Tech fought it because he had signed a LOI but they granted him immediate eligibility.

Nick Barwig - highly rated QB from Walton played one year for Chan Gailey. Auto accident wrecked his shoulder and he transferred to UGA for Business Degree (no football).
His dad says if we had our current Business program at that time, he would have stayed.

Pfft, we had a pretty good Business program well before Gailey ever showed up. I'm calling BS on his dad.

No BS. He was more interested in Real Estate (and girls) than Technology Business.
Worked out pretty well for him as he's now the Reg VP for CBRE.

Interesting side note, his dad played for Woody Hayes at OSU, and was one of the guys who held Woody back after he punched the Clemson lineman in the throat.

I think a couple of our golfers have transferred to UGA. I believe one was named Cassini. Kids usually transfer for more playing time.

What about Ciraldo from ugag to GT?

Had a lineman from late 60s named Stacill (i believe) go from GT to ugag , but believe he retired from football.

His last regular season play in college football was a pick. I was there.
