A seething hatred for Swinbey, Radakobitch and Clemson

I have to wonder how much football some of you folks have watched. I wasn't surprised to see Lawrence in the first series out of halftime - it's pretty standard to come out of halftime and play a series with the starters and then put the backups in. Just like it's pretty standard to go for it on 4th down rather than kicking field goals in a rout. (Also note that "route" is different from "rout.")

Maybe there were a few things that Clemson did that weren't normal "don't try too hard to score" plays (going for it on 4th in a punting situation, running deep passing plays), but I just didn't see much from them that left me shocked and appalled. I was more horrified (but strangely fascinated to be watching a once (?) in a lifetime beating) at watching our team play ourselves into another historic loss.

We’ve gone from “Go Clemson! Represent the ACC” to THWc, which shows that we think we should be able to compete with them. The perception turn around continues.

I've hated Dabo since day 1. I'm glad other people are now on board.
We need some more dubs for the perception turn around, but this loss should fire up the entire program big league.

Yep, I told my dad at half Lawrence would get the first series and then get pulled.

This thread is almost as embarrassing as the game. Should the team be mad about getting beat like that? You’re damn right. The Clemson game should be circled even more than it already is.

But this whining about running up the score is just pathetic. Clemson didn’t do anything that unusual, other than play way better than we did. And even if they did rub our faces in it, IT’S OUR JOB TO STOP THEM. Move on, beat BC, and prove that that game doesn’t define our team.

I feel like this belongs here. The more a school is willing to allow stuff like this, the easier it is to field a really good football team because no academic standards.

We have not been able to beat Clemson but once with CPJ's players. We were on a mini run with Chan's players. We snuck one more win in with CPJ's players, bit they have pretty well owned us for a decade. We need more Vance Walkers, Morgan Burnett's, Kenny Scott's, Phillip Wheelers, Gary Guytons, and Michael Johnson's on the team if we want to be successful. It is plain as day. Right in front of us.

First, Tech played to win the game and didn't play to run out the clock and keep the score down. Personally I like that. It gives you a measurement for the present, thinking toward the future. It also shows that Collins is not afraid to face the challenge. Having said this, it leads to occasional large scale blowouts against us from time to time.

Otherwise, I had already decided to stop rooting for Clemson in the playoffs after this season. They have had a mighty run and even get star running backs to stay their senior year, etc. (It's unheard of and really dumb by the RB really as they have short careers in the NFL.) But this team could go down in history as a great.

But the score makes you wonder about their motivation:

1) We are stopping any discussion of Radakovich becoming ACC Chairman....God I hope so!
2) Collins has said something negative on the recruiting trail about CU and Dabo isn't used to that from us and doesn't like it. Or maybe players are being paid on either side and it builds anger?
3) Regardless, GT is competing for top recruits now.

Who knows? But I hope we never forget and can get back to beating them regularly more than ever now.

Edit to add: Right before 9/11/0, GT beat up Navy by a similar score. We were just really really good and they were not. I was there with a friend. All we did was run our plain offense...sometimes it happens.

You guys missed the point of 2020. It's all about equality now and I've been hating on all the teams we play since I knew what hate was. There was never a time I was okay with one of our opponents, I just stop short of lighting their house on fire or murder for my own freedom.

Get on my hate boat bitches. It's setting sail.

Here is a possible reason why Clemson put on a show. Check out the quotes from the GA kids.

Not going to read it. But yes. Accurate. There was definitely purpose behind it.

I really do think it has more to do with Dabo's like of PJ than anything. But Collins comments on PJ really have to do with getting half a team that had no business in top level D1 football. And it is accurate.

You kids aren't gonna be playing with Trevor Lawrence.

On this date in 2013, we beat Syracuse 56-0. No class
This. I specifically remember them being pretty mad about us running about the score, and I didn't feel sorry for them at all. We were running our base offense, and they were completely unprepared to stop it. When we had walk-on fullbacks in at B-back at the end of the game, I was always cheering for them to score, because it might be the only chance in their career.

It sucks to be on this end of a blowout, but I don't blame Clemson at all.
