I wish channels would just go a la carte.
Sinclair is in trouble, bigly. I'm glad YTTV and Hulu dropped them. I don't want to give them money, I want them to go away. I hope this is the death knell for regional sportscasting. I sure as hell won't go Directv and continue to support this crap. If there's a game I'd like to watch, well i just won't watch it. Don't care.

They are all heading that way. Each channel in its own separate deal. Don't even need "DISH, SLING, YOUTUBETV, FUBO TV" which are all no value added middlemen anyway. Starting with the premium "movie" channels like HBO, now onto traditional OTA guys like CBS, NBC/Peacock, ABC . . . ESPN+ is the toe in the water for Disney. Only a matter of time until AMC, TBS, every RSN, etc. will be purchased the same way. Give it 5-7 years and you'll just pay $5 -$7 per month (or more) for every channel you like. Oh, and it's going to be a lot more expensive and inconvenient than now. You're welcome.

IMO, this has been the obvious end game since the beginning of the "cord cutting" movement. Especially the more expensive part.

What will really be interesting in the future is when people become so locked into their paid for accounts that new shows have a hard time "getting ratings" due to the lack of channel surfers/people who have access to the provider. It's easier to get s subscriber when you have something they want - like established properties, not as easy when a new show may suck after the first few episodes.

Meanwhile, in response to the OP, I have FUBO and it shows that the Tech-BC game will be on the ACC Network on Saturday at 4 PM. I like FUBO, as my local cable companies do not carry PAC-12 Network, and my kid attends a PAC-12 school, so I can watch their games on FUBO, too.

Tried the vpn workaround for tonights volleyball game, which is on Fox Sports South and blacked out on espn+/accnx. Worked like a charm.

I think the easiest way to get around blackouts is to switch back to cable or satallite providers. However the serious cord cutter can download any of the copius amounts of free software that will mask or make private your Public IP address provided by your cable/mobile device carrier. People have mentioned hotspot, it's probably the most popular because it's easy and quick. Google is your friend on this one. Enjoy the game even if it is blacked out!

FWIW, AT&T TV Now offers a one week free trial of its $80 package, which includes the Sinclair RSNs. Good for one weekend of games.

I'm probably in the minority but I prefer a RSN to each league/team setting up their own networks. I would rather only have one channel to worry about than an ACC channel, Braves channel, Hawks channel (if I cared to watch), etc. There isn't a lot of overlap in their schedules so the RSN model makes sense to me.

Wasn't sure whether to bump this thread or put it in the Pitt thread, but this will be the first GT game in a while where being able to watch it is questionable. We went to Hulu in August last year and have enjoyed it. The recent news that the service, and others, were dropping Sinclair and Fox Sports caused some worry. Checking local listings, the game appears it will be on FSN if using cable here but it will not be available on Hulu naturally. Though Sinclair is not on Hulu, it still appears that I can use the Fox Sports Go app (using my Hulu credentials oddly enough) to get the game. Any other "cord cutters" having an issue with this? What is your plan?

I was still kind of hoping that with half the SEC games cancelled that somehow our game would end up on a real channel. Not banking on that though. I believe r/CFBstreams used to be good to go, but through a little googling it looks like they've migrated off reddit to something called sportsurge(?).

Yeah, a friend recommended the Reddit option to me for an ACCN game early in the season, not realizing it had moved off of Reddit. I stared at it for a few minutes and decided that throwing some money at Sling for a few months would be a better use of resources.

I've never figured out why people make this recommendation. Between cfb, baseball, and boxing, I can't recall a single stream I found through reddit which actually worked. I've tried it at least a couple times per year going back to 2017.

Try r/OnOff . You probably have yours set to on.

Technically I wasnt referring to personal streams. Mine is always up. And to think, I was skeptical at first that there was a place for me on OF.

I've honestly never tried, so I'll make sure to temper my expectations this weekend. Or I'll just do a free Sling trial.

I don’t think Sling has a free trial anymore. All I got (in September) was $30 for the first month, $40 after that.

They probably saw the numbers of people going on trial for 1/3 of a regular season or for March Madness/*insert postseason month* and realized how dumb they were
