Wisky - Huskers - RIP

I don’t wish ill on any individuals, but there would be a bit of schadenfreude in watching the Big 10 crash and burn after the way they handled this stuff early on.

Fingers crossed, GT still seems to be handling things pretty well (although we seem tighter-lipped than most about things - who knows what’s really up with some players who disappeared from the depth chart for a couple of weeks).

JRjr

So they miss 3 weeks from their starting QB and 3rd string QB and if I’m not mistaken their starter from last year transferred out. And unless they play next week they’re ineligible for the BTCG unless the rest of the conference crumbles.

Yeah, that’s basically season over.

with the Big Ten covid protocols (21 day minimum quarantine and a cardio analysis) .. the whole thing could be a house of cards. 2020 is undefeated.
Big Ten is bound to crumble with how they approached these. 6 guys out and theu are canceling? Didn’t Georgia Southern play without 40 players and VT without 30?

the big problem is the quarantine time, 21 days, and they have zero bye weeks built in.

Yea. They’ll change the rules if Ohio State has to cancel or quarantine someone for 21 days; their whole mission is to ensure they have a playoff seat
how much you bet OSU doesn't have a positive test? and if they do I bet the person responsible testing suddenly "disappears" like a Russian partisan.

They won’t have a playoff seat.

Why would they choose a ridiculous 21 day period? That far exceeds the CDC guideline.
Maybe because they thought that there would be so many issues with the ones playing that eventually the season would stop and they could say how much more enlightened they are for having a more rigorous standard.

That or they are just dumbasses.

or both. this is much less complicated for them in that they are not allowing fans. no tickets to cancel. ALSO: Brutus the Buckeye mascot is not allowed at games this year because of covid risk. Brutus .. he who has a LARGE buckeye, dare i say mask ,over his head.

No worries - B1G excused from CFP, ACC and B12 excused from playoffs because reasons, Dwags play Iowa St for National Championship. David Pollack promoted to president of ABC and immediately renames it The Bulldog Brokeback Network.

Eggzackly. Ohio State - Michigan will never be cancelled.

Well they didn't really have a choice after their initial statements on canceling the season. You can't go from "COVID is so dangerous that we need to cancel our season" to "Teams should play even if 30 players are out due to COVID." They really boxed themselves into a corner with their initial statements.
