Yawn. I predict that it will still be hard to generate much hatred for NCSU after this game. Who hates vanilla?

State - 42
Tech - 21

Having Gibbs out and Mason potentially playing banged up is going to make hard to move when on offense. Sims will have turnovers, 2+, with State blitzing us to death. Our run D should be fine, but we will lose the game because we won’t stop their passing attack.

I watched NC State against Syracuse and Liberty. They should have lost both of them but there is something to be said for the determination of this team. Syracuse led at the half and at the end of the third quarter but as bad teams are wont to do, they found a way to lose despite sacking Hockman six times during the game. Liberty was actually attempting a makeable game winning field goal and number 11 for State blocked it. Watch that guy he is all over the field and as a linebacker actually leads them in interceptions. They have two or three very good receivers and a quarterback prone to hold the ball as long as possible. Syracuse stuffed the Pack running game but against Liberty they were breaking tackles all over the place. The key is pressure on Hockman. That guy looks for big plays all the time and he has receivers to go and get it. Will our safeties be able to keep them from running free? Without Gibbs and possibly Mason, I will go with NC State to win and cover at home.

They almost lost to Liberty - who the hell is that?! Tech takes State to pound town. Win by three scores. Bank it.

The same team that beat Virginia Tech and beat Syracuse...you remember the Orange don't you? They beat us as I recall. State is certainly "beatable" but also capable of beating us. Pressure on the quarterback will be key. He holds the ball too long, is not terribly athletic, but he is a gunslinger and has very capable receivers. I have little faith in our safeties staying with them. Gibbs being out does not help matters.

All I remember from the Syracuse game is Tech turning the over ball what seemed to be around 15 times. Additionally, I was being purposefully obtuse in regards to Liberty.

Tech 35, NC State 24
Sims continues to refine touch on the deep ball. O-line opens up big holes. Lots of juice, team will be ready to come out the gate strong.
