Grad transfer from Northwestern. Originally out of Dalton. 366 receiving yards, 141 rushing yards last year, also returns kicks. Good, versatile player. Helps offset losing the experience and production of Camp and Brown.

His PFF grades are very good before any of ya'll start.

Over Brown?!?!
I dunno how their 40 times compare, but productivity-wise, for sure.

I think Brown has significant talent and I didn't celebrate his departure at all. But if you look at 2019, his game was based on running past defenses that were basically begging us to throw. He burned them a few times, but we are still only talking about 21 catches. And it didn't materialize in 2020 for whatever reason.

Brown was a bit of a one trick pony; deep balls. He wasn’t really effective underneath, on the jet, or RAC. I think this guy can give us a little bit of that dynamic
running past coverages and breaking big plays and TDs is a pretty good trick. The kid did put up 7 TDs as a freshman on a team that struggled to throw the ball.
Brown did get hurt in the latter stages of this season and that kept his totals down

Yea. He was a legit deep threat, not doubting that; and significant loss. Just identifying where McGowan may actually bring a different type of value from the same position on the field

We had some struggles with passpro. It's going to hard to let the deep threat develop if the qb is scrambling.

And Sims was inconsistent on the deep ball, especially early in the year. Seems like there were a lot of overthrows, but he gradually began putting more touch on them.

Been a long time since we had two, let alone three, former Dalton HS players at NATS.

Usually one about every 10-15 years....... Donnie Ellis, Tom Daniel, Eric Bearden, Greg Ellis, Josh McElroy, and Gibbs & Ross.

Joe Bill Faith & YeOldeDeepSnap in the late '60s was the last time I can recall two.
